The Kursk operation continues. In this thread I will cover all events happening in this particular area today.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have liberated the settlements of Dar'ino, Sverdlikovo and Gogolivka according to Russian sources. Honcharivka and Oleshnya are also said to be taken by UA forces but this is not confirmed (Honcharivka looks unlikely still).

Yesterday's events can be found here
Russian sources claim strikes are carried out on Ukrainian concentrations in/near Makhnovka, which is just south of Sudzha and would confirm that Ukrainian forces have made more ground gains there, and the advance has not just stopped at the villages from previous post.
TikTok reporting in!

"In Kursk. On the border, our "conscripts" stood in the first line. Some of our guys were captured. When the AFU struck, Akhmat "dispersed", "taking more favorable positions" in the rear."

Well well well. Where did we hear that before? Image
Multiple Russian sources confirm that Ukraine has pulled up a fair amount of air defense near the Kursk region, which makes it hard for Russian aviation to give close air support to defending units. In this message they also confirm that 'several' villages were lost to Ukraine. Image
Update from the Kursk region as of 10:00 AM

➡️AFU advanced along the 38K-004/R200 highway towards Honcharivka
➡️There could be another axis of attack south of Honcharivka, hence why Russians talk about a near encirclement of Oleshnya.
➡️Russians report fighting close to Honcharivka, unclear from which exact direction.
➡️RU sources confirm AFU took Sverdlikove.Image
According to Russian channels. Putin has convened the Russian Security Council at 13:00.
According to Russian channel Two Majors, Ukrainian Forces hold presence in these settlements: Lyubimovka, Obukhovka, Pokrovskii, Zelenyi Shlyakh, Tolstyi Lug, Nizhnyi Klin, Nikolaevo-Daryina, Dar'ino, Sverdlikovo, and Lebedevka.

He reports that the AFU penetrated up to 15km deep inside Russian territory with a front roughly 10-11km wide.

In blue, these are the settlements with claimed AFU presence.Image

Sudzha, Kursk region. Per Russian sources, the city has been mostly evacuated due to the ongoing Ukrainian operation.
Kurchatov, Kursk region. Again an air alarm and explosions.
A full video has emerged showing the first recorded strike on a Mi-28 helicopter by a drone while in flight over the Kursk region.
Air alarm continues in the Kursk region.
Russian forces have reportedly left Leonidovo and Aleksandriya. These towns are located just east of Zelenyi Shlyakh which is reported by Russians to be under UA control. Needs further confirmation. Image

Russian strikes on Ukrainian assault groups, geolocated close to Leonidovo, Kursk region. It is very possible that the triangle Aleksandriya-Leonidove-Novoivanovka is abandoned by Russian forces.

Image
Passing it off as 'media victories', Russian channel Readovka reports that armed men started hanging a Ukrainian flag in the village of Malaya Loknya, roughly 5-6km east of Leonidove, where Ukrainians were geolocated. They furthermore claim that there are several Ukrainian mobile DRG units active.Image
Image
Russian General Apti Alaudinov, commander of Akhmat special forces unit, stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not have the resources to capture the Kursk nuclear power plant.

Well, if the AFU ever makes it to the Kursk NPP, it won't be facing your TikTok troops as they will seek for 'more favourable positions', isn't it?Image
Ukrainian forces are in control of the Gazoizmeritel'naya Stantsiya "Sudzha", a border facility for transporting Russian gas to Europe. This is now confirmed by Russian sources. Image
Border control point south of Sudzha (МАПП "Суджа"). Trough this area, the AFU advances along the 38K-004 highway towards Sudzha. Image
Putin is holding an emergency meeting with government members to discuss the situation in the Kursk region following an operation by Ukrainian forces. He issued instructions to various civilian agencies to provide necessary assistance to the region's residents and asked Deputy Prime Minister Manturov to coordinate this effort initially.

Worried.
Ukrainian equipment on the move, bearing the new tactical sign.
Ukrainian DRG groups are actively operating in the Kursk region according to Russian sources. They move in groups of 4-5, covertly destroying Russian equipment.
More footage from Ukrainian equipment on the move, during night. Likely in the Kursk region.
Local Russian channels from Sudzha report that Sudzha would be under Ukrainian control. Earlier a rumor appeared that Russian local commanders had surrendered the town without fighting. For now, this is all speculation and not confirmed. Image
Russian channel Two Majors reports that reports indicate that the city of Sudzha is under operational encirclement by Ukrainian forces. A tank is directly targeting the border department. Image
"Sudzha... someone will be held accountable for this," Russian military blogger Voenacher writes.

Looks like Russians are in actual trouble in the Kursk region. Image
A resident of Sudzha, who fled to Kursk, expressed frustration over the lack of military presence and air defense in their area. He noted that while there are helicopters in Kursk, Sudzha has no protection. He claimed that the Akhmat forces were the first to retreat, leaving the area vulnerable. He emphasized the danger of returning to Sudzha, where tanks are already present, and stated that the government's official statements do not reflect the reality.
According to Russian sources based on reports from locals, Ukrainian forces have already liberated the western outskirts of Sudzha, hanging the Ukrainian flag onto the hospital building. Fighting is reportedly ongoing at the entrance of the city.

Fighterbomber also extremely unhappy. Say the line: Kursk People's Republic!

"If the Ukrainians manage to breach the area around the nuclear power plant, the use of aviation and heavy weapons will be restricted, requiring infantry to dislodge them despite Ukraine's significant advantage in FPV drones. The rapid advance of 15 km in a day highlights the urgency of the situation. The main concern is not just the occupied territories or drones, but the local population, who could be used as human shields by the Ukrainians and whose evacuation is being hindered, even by lethal means," he summarizes, a little worried.Image
The tears in Russian channels right now, reminds me of the withdrawal from Kharkiv in 2022. They have no exact idea what is going on, but everyone is panicking. And every few minutes they have to read bad news and situations decreasing. If only to make Russia look completely foolish, this operation has succeeded.
Russia has started bombing Sudzha with guided bombs. Image
Russians have reportedly started transferring reserves to the Kursk region. In response to the ongoing operation by Ukraine.
Chief of the General Staff, Army General Valery Gerasimov, said at a meeting with Putin that Ukraine will be defeated and the Russian Armed Forces will reach the administrative borders.

😌
Reports coming in about a shot down Russian fighter jet. Unclear where and which type, but presumably in the Kursk direction. Image
According to Russian sources, Ukrainian DRG units have already reached the village of Korenovo, some 20-25km from the breached border. Image
A new video from the area near Zelenyi Shlyakh, taken by a driver trying to leave, shows dead Russian soldiers and their rifles on the road.
The US said it intends to request clarification from Kyiv regarding the events in the Kursk region, the White House said.

Forward the hotline to Budanov's voicemail:

deeper and deeper.
Russian captives taken back to Ukraine from the Kursk region. Image
Reports indicate that Ukraine has already taken hundreds of captives in the Kursk region. Here another group of several dozen is visible. Image
A group of 22 captured Russian soldiers marching towards the Ukrainian border. Added to the larger group already accumulated there.
According to Russian source Rybar, Ukrainian forces managed to penetrate deep towards Korenevo, as well as entering Sudzha from the south. This would mean Oleshnya, Melovoi, Rubanshchina and Honcharevka are taken by the AFU. Image
According to various sources. The situation in the Kursk region likely looks something like this af of 19:00 PM. Image
Russian troops attempted a counterattack in the direction of Zeleny Shlyakh farm, but failed and had to retreat.
A close up of a group of Russian soldiers, surrendering to the ZSU. Including a white flag.
Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov announced at an emergency Security Council meeting that Ukrainian advances into the Kursk region have been halted, with Ukrainian forces suffering 315 casualties (100 killed and the rest wounded) and losing 54 vehicles, including 7 tanks. The operation aims to defeat the enemy and restore the Russian state border, with approximately 1,000 Ukrainian troops initially attacking the Kursk border to seize territory.

🙃
Russian miliblogger Romanov reports that Sudzha has come under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Waiting for further confirmation. Image
According to Ukrainian soldier of the 24th aidar batallion with callsign Osman, Russians bombed their own forces with guided bombs during the retreat in Sudzha. Image
According to international law, Ukraine "has a legitimate right to defend itself against aggression, including by striking the aggressor on its territory," European Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Peter Stano commenting on the Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive in the Kursk regionImage
Fighterbomber tried to pass this off as Ukrainian tanks destroyed. But unfortunately for him, we already know these were the two Russian T-62's hit yesterday. Image from yesterday is included.
Image
The acting governor of the Kursk region has decided to announce a state of emergency in he region as of today.
Russian sources confirming our latest assesment, even putting Melovoy and Novoivanovka under Ukrainian control. Russian counterattacks are marked in red, but were unsuccesful according to Russians themselves. Sudzha is still not 100% confirmed under AFU control.

Ukraine did not notify the US about its intention nor execution of the Kursk operation. The US said that such actions are a sovereign decision by Ukraine. wsj.com/world/europe/u…
According to Russian media, war Z-correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny died today. This information is confirmed by Russian State Duma deputy Delagin. Earlier, Poddubny posted a video from the Kursk region, where he had come to cover the events of an unexpected offensive on Russia. Image
During the first two days of the operation, nearly 300 Russians were taken captive in the Kursk region. This number is expanded on an hourly basis. Image
Despite the fact that Russia claims to have control over the situation in the Kursk region, Moscow fears that F-16 fighter jets may be used there.

I have taken down this video. Although its absolutely funny and could very well be true, it might also be just a very good joke. Therefore, no official information and better to remove. Image
"Ultimately, the decision about how Ukraine conducts its military operations is up to Ukraine, but nothing has changed regarding our policy regarding strikes across the border," United States Department of Defense Spokesperson Matthew Miller said.
Despite earlier reports that he was killed, Dmitry Sablin, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee, confirmed that Z-blogger Yevgeny Poddubny is still alive: "Zhenya is alive, and may he live a long life despite his enemies."

He is reportedly taken to a hospital with severe wounds.
Russian sources claim that around 4,000 soldiers from Bilhorod and a brigade from near Vovchansk, along with 2,200 soldiers reassigned from Ukrainian fronts (reportedly from Makiivka, Luhansk and near Vuhledar, Donetsk), are redirected to the Kursk region in an attempt to oust Ukrainian forces.Image
Update on the Kursk region from Russian perspective:

"It is reported that the enemy has used Electronic Warfare means to suppress our frequencies of combat control signals and at the same time saturated the theater with repeaters of their own. This explains the lack of stable communication between our units with all the ensuing conclusions. The situation is characterized as grave. At night, both sides will be entrenched in positions, and it is logical to expect enemy drone operations and the use of night drones. Last night brought the AFU losses in manpower and equipment. The destruction of identified targets is still under way."Image
"F*ck, rockets in our direction, everyone to the basement", it is very noisy in the Kursk region at the moment. Another misguided KAB?
According to Russian sources, heavy fighting is underway at the Loknya-Nikolsky-Viktorovka-Kruglen'koye line, as the AFU is trying to advance, aiming for Malaya Loknya. Image
Vladimir Novikov, Leader of the Russian Zaporizhzhia Militia and Commander of the Special Operations Brigade TROYA is worried that the AFU will strike in the Bilhorod region.

"If the information at my disposal is accurate, there will soon be an attempt by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to make an auxiliary breakthrough into the Bilhorod region."Image
Russian channels sharing a video, hinting towards the deployment of PMC Wagner troops to the Kursk region which were previously stationed elsewhere in 'distant places'.

I guess it was not Mali 🙃
