SitRep - 08/08/24 - Kursk Operation day #3 brings new 🇺🇦 gains.

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Russia is urgently bringing reserves to Kursk, as the AFU keeps advancing, adding more km² under their control, already ~500km².

During the night, Russia launched a small drone and missile attack. Almost all missiles and all drones were taken out.

Key general events

➡️Russia transferred reinforcements to the Kursk region.
➡️Z-war correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny is wounded, not dead
➡️Putin met with the Kursk governor
➡️Kursk residents call for help and appeal to Putin
➡️The EU/US have no issue with Ukraine's operation

Key battlefield events

➡️The AFU increased the area of control with ~220km²
➡️AFU took Kubatkin, Zazulevka, Yuzhnyi, Kositsa, Cherkasskoe Porechnoe, Pravda, Ivashkovskii, Russkoe Porechnoe, Martynovka, Kruglik, Myrnyi and Bondarevka
➡️Attacks to Korenovo and Snagost continue.

➡️Ukrainian DRG units managed to reach Kromskie Byki (20km from Lgov) and Bol'shoe Soldatskoe
➡️North of Malaya Loknya it is unclear what the exact situation looks like. The same goes for the flanks towards Korenevo.
➡️Russian reinforcements arrived north of Bol'shoe Soldatskoe

In the next few days, tougher battles are expected in the Kursk region, as Russian reinforcements are intended to take back what was taken from them. The AFU also reportedly started digging in at several area's, preparing for a longer stay.

New operations are not ruled out 🙃
