Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported that over 11,000 people have evacuated from the Krasnoyarsk district in the Belgorod region, nearly the entire population of the area, which was around 14,000 according to the 2021 census. This evacuation followed increased activity by the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the border, and the district's entrance was subsequently closed. On the night of August 11, Ukrainian forces entered the district.
U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, during a meeting with President Zelensky, praised Ukraine's bold actions, expressing his approval that they acted without prior warning. He noted that while it was predicted Kyiv would fall in three days, Ukraine is now advancing into Russia 2.5 years later, expressing pride in their resilience.

Akhmat commander Apti Alaudinov reported that his forces, alongside the 810th Marine Brigade and other units, have been defending against repeated waves of Ukrainian armored vehicles near Martynovka for three consecutive days. The Ukrainian forces are attempting to breach their defenses to advance towards Kurchatov via the Lyubimovka area.

The Ukrainian General Staff announced restrictions on the movement of all citizens within a 20-kilometer border zone in the Sumy region. This is due to increased fighting and heightened activity by Russian sabotage groups.

The commander of the Chechen TikTok battalion "Akhmat," Alaudinov, claimed that the situation near Kursk is under control and that no Kadyrov fighters have been captured, dismissing videos of prisoners as fake. In response, Ukraine's 225th Assault Brigade published photos showing a large number of documents belonging to captured Chechen fighters.
Military reports indicate that there are now some prisoners from the Kursk region who have agreed to fight with the Russian Volunteer Corps and the Freedom of Russia Legion. There aren't many of them, and they will undergo initial checks.
According to Russian sources, in the western outskirts of Kamyshnoye, fighting is reported. Although not yet visually confirmed. It looks pretty certain that the AFU has managed to securely bypass or controls Borki and Spal’noe while fighting is happening in or near Krupets (in red).

➡️At Korenevo there are two areas of attention, the eastern outskirts, geolocated footage confirms AFU presence, as well as the northern part of the ponds at Durovka-Vetreno which is also assaulted by AFU forces. One thing is sure: AFU is close to Korenevo if not already inside.

President Joe Biden described the Ukrainian military operation in the Kursk region as a "real dilemma" for Putin. He mentioned that the U.S. is in direct, constant contact with Ukraine but did not provide further details while the operation is ongoing. Meanwhile, U.S. officials noted that Ukraine has not yet clarified the ultimate goals of this operation.
