Yeah, sure, I'll prove you wrong charlie kirk.

Let's share this enough so dumpster head will see it.

Common law.... lol Charlie kirk is so full of shit.

Thomas Jefferson once said, "If, therefore, from the settlement of the Saxons, to the introduction of Christianity among them, that system of religion could not be a part of the common law, because they were not yet Christians". He also said that since there is no evidence of Christianity being adopted into the common law from the time of the Saxons until the end of the common law, "we may safely affirm (though contradicted by all the judges and writers on earth) that Christianity neither is, nor ever was, a part of the common law".
"In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own."

Source: Letter of Thomas Jefferson to Horatio G. Spafford, March 17, 1814.

"History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest- ridden people maintaining a free civil government, This marks the lowest grade of ignorance of which thei civil as well as religious leaders will always avail themselves for their own purposes."

I have found Christian dogma unintelligible. Early in life, I absented myself from Christian assemblies

Lol charlie mentioned John Adams. True, what Charlie said is a correct quote from adams. But so aren't these quotes i have. It's quite clear adams was not a fan of the institution but thought Christianity had a social utility in one's personal life. Regardless, Adams was anti church and state.

l almost shudder at the thought of alluding to the most fatal example of the abuses of grief which the history of mankind has preserved -- the Cross. Consider what calamities that engine of grief has produced!

What havoc has been made of books through every century of the Christian era? Where are fifty gospels condemned as spurious by the bull of Pope Gelasius? Where are forty wagon-loads of Hebrew manuscripts burned in France, by order of another pope, because of suspected heresy? Remember the Index Expurgato-rius, the Inquisition, the stake, the axe, the halter, and the guillotine; and, oh! horrible, the rack! This is as bad, if not worse, than a slow fire. Nor should the Lion's Mouth be forgotten. Have you considered that system of holy lies and pious frauds that has raged and triumphed for 1,500 years.
More Thomas Jefferson

No man shall be compelled to frequent or support any religious worship, place, or ministry whatsoever, nor shall be enforced, restrained, molested, or burthened in his body or goods, nor shall otherwise suffer, on account of his religious opinions or belief; but that all men shall be free to profess, and by argument to maintain, their opinions in matters of religion, and that the same shall in no wise diminish, enlarge, or affect their civil capacities (Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom 1779)

know it will give great offense to the clergy, but the advocate of religious freedom is to expect neither peace nor forgiveness from them. *(to Levi Lincoln, 1802)

Say nothing of my religion. It is known to my god and myself alone. (in a letter to John Adams, 11 January 1817

I am of a sect by myself, as far as I know. (letter to Ezra Stiles Ely June 25, 1819)

Christianity, neither is, nor ever was, a part of the common law. The clergy, by getting themselves established by law and ingrafted into the machine of government, have been a very formidable engine against the civil and religious rights of man.

History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridder people maintaining a free civil government. This marks the lowest grade of ignorance of which their civil as well as religious leaders will always avail themselves for their own purposes

In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own. It is easier to acquire wealth and power by this combination than by deserving them, and to effect this, they have perverted the purest religion ever preached to man into mystery and jargon, unintelligible to all mankind, and therefore the safer engine for their purposes.

The day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the Supreme Being as his father, in the womb of a virgin, will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter.
Thomas Paine

The declaration, which says that God visits the sins of the fathers upon the children, is contrary to every principle of moral justice. The Age of Reason 1794

I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish Church, by the Roman Church, by the Greek Church, by the Turkish Church, by the Protestant Church, nor by any Church that I know of. My own mind is my own church. The Age Of Reason 1794

The Bible is a book that has been read more and examined less than any book that ever existed. The Theological Works of Thomas Paine

All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit.
Abraham Lincoln (not a founding father, but Republicans refer to themselves as the party of Lincoln, so I find this to be relevant).

My earlier views of the unsoundness of the Christian scheme of salvation and the human origin of the scriptures have become clearer and stronger with advancing years, and I see no reason for thinking I shall ever change them

The Bible is not my book nor Christianity my profession

Both read the same Bible and pray to the same God, and each invokes his aid against the other. It may seem strange that any men should dare to ask a just God's assistance in wringing their bread from the sweat of other men's faces, but let us judge not that we be not judged.
James Madison

"The purpose of separation of church and state is to keep forever from these shores the ceaseless strife that has soaked the soil of Europe in blood for centuries." — Letter objecting to the use of government land for churches, 1803.

"Religion and government will both exist in greater purity, the less they are mixed together." — Letter to Edward Livingston, 1822.

"Every new and successful example of a perfect separation between ecclesiastical and civil matters is of importance." — Letter to Edward Livingston, 1822.

Also, when it comes to the Father of the constitution, James Madison, one could always read the first sentence of the first Amendment.
And when chowderheads like Charlie bring up the decleration (which isn't law) that refers to "god" it's actually "creator."

Which makes sense when you consider a deist (Thomas jefferson) authored it.

Deists believe in a supreme being or creator who created the universe, set it in motion based on observable law. Akin to an artisan watchmaker.

What they didn't believe in was the Christian god who regularly involved himself in the affairs of man.

By saying their creator, it's being inclusive to all persons of various faiths.
Side note: When it comes to the decleration of Independence, how different our country would have been if the first draft was adopted. What a lot of people don't know is that there is a rather large section condemning slavery and the CHRISTIAN king. Jefferson purposely made an emphasis on Christian. Much of Jefferson's draft was ultimately adopted by the full Congress, but it removed his clause on the king's culpability in promoting the slave trade in America and in encouraging slaves to rise up in insurrection against their slaveholders.

John Adams supported Jefferson's stand and decades later wondered if the failure to publish the draft had been due to its "vehement philippic against Negro slavery."Image
Also, while Thomas Jefferson was president, In a letter to the Baptist of danbury Connecticut after they written to him because they had a fear of persecution.

Who were they afraid of being persecuted by you ask? The congregationist of Danbury Connecticut, of course.

What these christian nationalist like charlie kirk forget is what the world used to actually be like and why separation of church and state was such a monumental achievement.

Never mind the ppl you christians hate that you consider to be "others." A lot of you hated each other. It was the European way, one religious sect killing and torturing the other one.

But President Jefferson wrote back to them, no, you may be assured that there will forever be a wall of separation between the church and the state.Image

Hey you redneck maga ppl when exactly did you become so pro law enforcement? Do you even know where the term redneck comes from? In the 1800's coal mining was serious business. And companies didn't even pay you.
They gave you monopoly money that was only good at company owned stores because in the 1st gilded age we had company towns. Where everything was owned by the company. Even your home.
It made you poor and dependent so you could never get ahead and were dependent on the compnay for everything. And when you started to organize and demand pay, benefits etc.

Because we are in the end stages of capitalism and oligarchs will protect their wealth at all costs. Like in 1934 America's oligarchs formed the American liberty league to undermine FDR's political ambitions.
The same year smedly butler testified to Congress he was approached to lead an industrialist coup against FDR w ½ million soldiers. Oligarchy and fascism embrace eachother. We are again at another crossroad in our country like we were here in the 1930's.
When the economy was wrecked and wealth inequality was rampant and the robber barons were trying to protect their wealth.

Josh Hawley is a cunt. Let's talk about Christianity and the Civil War

South Carolina Preacher James Henley Thornwell called slavery, "the obligation to labour for another, determined by the providence of god." Image
He also went on to say, "the parties in this conflict are not merely abolitionist and slaveholders; they are atheists, socialists, communists, red Republicans, jacobins on the one side, and the friends of order and regulated freedom on the other."
Jesse Cox of Tennessee labeled the north as the "antichrist, the beast from bottomless pits."

Preacher J. Jones told confederate soldiers it was their duty to fight "the infidel" of the north and engage in "holy war."

Thread about me.

I lost my 2 closest friends which put me in a terrible depression. I gained almost 200lbs in about 2 years. I had a hole in me that I tried to fill w food. Plus my drinking and partying was terrible as well. I was tired. Tired of everything.
Tired of being everyone's joke. Tired of being treated like I was subhuman. Tired of being looked at with disgust. Tired of ppl telling my wife she should leave me. Tired of men disrespecting me by trying to pick up my wife.
Tired of barely being able to wipe my own ass and asking for help to tie my shoes. I was tired of being alive.

No MAGA supporter can ever claim to love the troops again. If any maga says they support the troops punch them in the mouth. Trump has directly endangered our entire military/spies/soldiers/country/allies. The damage he caused exceeds men like Alger hiss or Robert Henssen.
It's unprecedented what trump has done through his crimes and there's still more to come. Let me be clear, he is the biggest traitor this country has ever seen. He has ripped America from its foundations of democracy. He has put the safety and well being of our country at risk.
He does not fight for you. He loathes you. He hates poor ppl. The average maga person wouldn't even be allowed in his resorts because he despises ppl like you. Trump hates ignorant, poor, dirty ppl. He hates lower class ppl.
