SitRep - 17/08/24 - The AFU is trying to isolate Russia in the Kursk region…
An overview of the daily events in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. In the Kursk region, Ukraine is striking Seym river crossings, with two out of three are taken out already.
Defeat after defeat didn’t hold the Russians back to once again try to charge towards the 79th brigade’s position. The same fate… they got hit and retreated.
While aid in 2024 remains unchanged, Germany has no space for Ukrainian aid anymore in the coming year(s) as they (might be temporarily) halt aid in search for money to fill budget deficits.
More details about the law that will ban organizations connected to the Russian Orthodox Church if they don’t severe ties. The ROC itself will be banned also.
➡️Conflicting reports about Korenevo. UA military sources claim AFU has control over Korenevo while RU sources deny.
➡️A company size unit of the 810th brigade fled their positions, reportedly near Korenevo.
➡️AFU is trying to link up with troops from the south.
Snagost
➡️RU sources confirm AFU has taken control over Komarovka, while they also admitted AFU is present in Krasnooktyabrskoe
➡️Russians noted AFU activity towards Apanasovka and Byakhovo.
The AFU seems to be pushing west to Glushkovo-Tetkino along the railway tracks.
North of Sudzha, no visual or reported changes. Despite some geolocated footage of AFU attacks, there are no confirmations of the AFU actually holding presence in one of the villages like Kauchuk, Sheptukhovka, Semenovka and others in that area. We will keep monitoring.
Today, Russian channels started publishing stories about a possible Russian retreat behind the Seym river near Tetkino. For now, this is not confirmed and should be taken as a rumor.
Thanks for today, a new SitRep tomorrow. But may I ask you something?
