Roman Alekhin, an advisor to the governor of Kursk, urged the residents of Rylsk to evacuate while it is still possible and safe. He emphasized not to wait until the last minute, as some other towns did, and stressed that the lives of the residents and their families are more valuable than anything else. Rylsk has a population of around 15,000 people.

A UAZ-3151 with Russian marines being ambushed by Ukrainian paratroopers from the 3rd Battalion of the 82nd Air Assault Brigade. As a result, four Russians were killed, and two were taken prisoner. The incident took place in a field between Kalynove and Pohrebky in the Kursk region.

Russian Ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov, stated that Putin has made a decision on how Moscow will respond to the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attack on the Kursk region.

Russians reported that they fought drones in two regions last night. According to Russia's Ministry of Defense, they allegedly shot down seven Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod and Kursk regions.

According to The New York Times, attitudes toward Putin among Russians have worsened since the Ukrainian Armed Forces began operations in the Kursk region. Data from FilterLabs AI, which analyzed social media posts and news materials, indicates that while support for Putin remains stronger in Moscow, dissatisfaction is growing more rapidly in remote regions of Russia, making military recruitment more difficult.

When truth kicks in.

A resident of Sudzha expressed relief that Ukrainian Defense Forces are nearby. She criticized the local authorities and mentioned a desire for a peace agreement between the Ukrainian and Russian presidents.

Russian war correspondent Alekhine reports that the "Surovikin line" in the Kursk and Belgorod regions was poorly constructed, mainly to spend the allocated billions, making it effectively useless. He also expresses frustration that the Ukrainian command is more motivated than the Russian, which he finds unsurprising since the war is defensive for Ukraine but expansionist for Russia.

Putin supported the decision to provide automatic payments of 15,000 rubles to residents of the Kursk region who have left the combat zone.

In the Kursk region, Russian forces are moving in military equipment and reportedly deploying the 56th Air Assault Regiment of the Russian Airborne Forces. The equipment includes 152mm D-20 howitzers, BMD-2/3 infantry fighting vehicles, and some engineering machinery.

Fighting is reported near the villages of Kozyrevka and Samoryadove, north east of Sudzha. This marks a new forward presence by AFU units. Previously the AFU was located west of these villages.

As reported in our map several days ago and in line with the expected direction of advance, AFU was geolocated just outside Kul’baki. Fighting for the town is probably already underway.
