This is the untold story of how Magic Eden made millions from Magic Tickets 🧵

Throwback: Magic Tickets Airdrop

In February-March 2022 Magic Eden airdropped their Magic Tickets, promising different rewards like Airdrops, Points and Whitelist Spots.

They also announced a DAO that will be funded with 1K SOL from ME + 2% of Magic Ticket tx fees + 5% of Magic Ticket royalties.

► Magic Tickets total supply was 30,062 and got airdropped to loyal traders (Normie, Degen, OG)

Throwback: Magic DAO

Since then, not a lot of things have happened.

Even though there was a separate Discord channel for Magic Tickets holders with giveaways and WL spots.

No DAO mechanism was implemented, but enough promises were made to keep people hopeful.

A real back-burner relationship.

Sometimes it even looked like that Magic Eden had no real plans for Magic Tickets and Magic DAO.

In the meantime Magic Eden also deleted all their blogposts about the Magic DAO and the overall Benefits of Magic Tickets.

While DAO Wallets from other Projects like Jupiter are public, no one knows anything about the Magic DAO wallet (should hold at least 1,000+ SOL).

tl;dr so far: Magic Tickets were purely speculative with barely any perks - perfect for wash trading and farming

Throwback: Retro Diamonds Drop

In Jan/Feb 2024, they introduced the Retro Diamond Drop, which was the unofficial start of the ME farming season.

They also promised one more time to reward Magic Ticket holders even though they did this almost two years ago.

Anyway, degens literally bought the news and Magic Tickets pumped.

Throwback: Burn

In June Magic Eden announced that holders can now burn their Magic Tickets for Diamonds

Magic Tickets could be exchanged for Diamonds from June 20th to July 20th
► Normie: 500
► Degen: 650
► OG: 1000

PENGU is set to launch on Dec. 17 at 2 PM UTC (time not officially confirmed)

The claim process for Pudgy holders and other communities remains unclear.

However, we can expect that at least 30% of the total supply will be released, (if no vesting) indicating a huge volume.

Reminder:

Wait a few minutes after TGE before adding liquidity, as there could be big volatility that may result in IL.

There will be enough volume throughout the day, so avoid entering a pool before TGE—no one can predict the starting price.

Today, we focus on Ads Revenue Sharing.

Even though X's ad revenue has decreased from $600M to $200M, it still provides a very nice bonus you can receive every two weeks!

Ads Revenue Sharing lets you earn money from ads shown in your post comments. The earnings depend on your content's organic views.

Only engagement from verified accounts count for these payouts.

This means that smaller organic accounts might receive a larger payout than big accounts.

There is some huge volume expected for the launch of ME

This is how you play it on Meteora 🧵

@MeteoraAG ME will go live today at 2 PM UTC.

Claiming will also go live at the same time. I expect heavy traffic, which could lead to some claiming issues. This is why my focus is on dlmms first.

The initial supply will be around 175M (17.5%) which is similar to other launches.

As with any launch, the first minutes can be highly volatile in any direction.

I expect we'll see some green candles before the selling pressure from claimers begin.

If you want to avoid risk, consider skipping the first few minutes or set up your range based on your preferred price level.

This is absolutely true when you look at the trading revenue and user statistics from the past year.

Magic Eden recognized this and began diversifying, including creating their own wallet

Even as the leader in the NFT sector, generating significant revenue is challenging, especially after the farming season ends.
