SitRep - 27/08/24 - After Kursk, Belgorod is next?
An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. After Kursk, Ukrainian forces are now allegedly trying to break into the Belgorod region, causing panic among Russians.
Lets continue with the general events. Ukraine vouched to do something after the big Russian attack. It said it will strike deep in the Russian rear with new equipment.

Avdiivka-Pokrovsk
➡️Russians keep advancing, taking control over Memryk.
➡️Kalynove is possibly also taken, we need visual confirmation
➡️Clashes are reported on the outskirts of Selydove
In general, it looks bad in this sector for Ukraine. Urgent changes are needed.
Kostiantynivka
➡️Russians advanced from the eastern part of the city towards the center. There is also geolocated footage showing a Russian group of soldiers running into the western part, planting a Russian flag. We don't know if this is permanent or if they were driven back.

➡️Early in the morning, Russian channels reported Ukrainian movement at the Belgorod border near Nekhoteevka and Zhuravlyovka.
➡️RU sources and the governor confirmed skirmishes are ongoing.
➡️RU sources claim that near Shebekino, there are also ongoing fights, unconfirmed.

By the end of the day, some Russian sources have reported that Ukrainian forces managed to break trough several parts of the Belgorod border and have entrenched. Those that initially reported the attacks, are now very silent. We will have to wait for more info for confirmation.

A driver of a Stryker M1126 armored vehicle, nicknamed "Kucher," from the 82nd Air Assault Brigade shared his experiences about the initial days of breaking through the Kursk border. He mentioned that despite the challenges, they managed to capture a significant amount of Russian territory in a short time, surprising the Russians with their boldness and speed.

According to Russian sources, fighting is ongoing in Spal'noe and Krupets while they claim Borki has been recaptured from the AFU. No visual confirmation has been given for each of these claims and according to our information, Spal'noe and Borki remain under AFU control while Krupets in contested.
