A Russian convoy and a crossing over the Seym River in the Kursk region were destroyed. This reportedly took place near the village of Zvannoe, possibly on August 28.

Ukrainian paratroopers in the Kursk region have captured seven Russian tanks, including one T-90M, four T-80 BVMs, and two T-72s. Some of these tanks are nearly new, having just come off the assembly line, while others require repairs.
According to preliminary information from Ukrainian sources, the AFU has taken control over the settlement of Kamyshevka in the Kursk region. Previously, Russian sources reported fighting near this settlement already. If confirmed, the AFU has almost reached the Sudzha-Lgov road from the east which would put Russian forces inside Pogrebki, Mar'evka, Orlovka, Storaya Sorochina and Novaya Sorochina in danger of encirclement.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that Ukraine's attacks on Kursk region are a legitimate right, as Ukraine has the right to self-defense under international law, which extends beyond its borders with Russia. He added that while Ukraine is at risk from its offensive actions, Kyiv should decide how to conduct its military campaign.

Today, around 11:00 AM, Ukrainian Air Force troops shot down a Russian "Orion" drone in the Kursk direction. The "Orion" is a medium-altitude, long-endurance UAV used by the Russian military since 2020 for reconnaissance and can carry up to 200 kg of combat payload, including air-to-surface missiles.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Russia will not negotiate with Ukraine over territories in the Kursk region. He emphasized that Russia does not discuss its own territory with anyone.
