Apparently we need to talk about this. CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC all love to trot out general/flag rank officers like their rank makes them infallable super geniuses who are THE Subject Matter Experts on all things Foreign Policy.

They love to introduce these officers as all-knowing oracles of military affairs, foreign policy & read their bios like they’re annointed saints or the next incarnation of Eisenhower, Patton, MacArthur or Von Manstein or Guderian.

Reality is far, far different.

We could talk about how Gen Colin Powell is famous for the ‘91 Gulf War victory b/c he stood @ a lecturn @ the Pentagon as Chairmen of JCS, taking credit for Gen Schwarzkopf’s victory.

The **reality** of Colin Powell is he’s a far leftwing fake conservative like Comey; and he has one hell of a history.

Powell’s first big ticket he punched was white washing reported war crimes in Vietnam, leading to a promotion. Powell learned early as a Junior officer that making the right friends meant continuing to be promoted.

Lot’s of people got to know Col. Oliver North in the ‘80’s as Reagan’s NATSEC Adviser, b/c of Iran Contra. What most DON’T know is that program was Colin Powell’s baby. He ran it. Every part of it.

How the F do you think he made Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under a former CIA Director turned President?

Because Colin Powell is a **political animal**, not a *soldier*.

Fast forward. Former CIA Director turned President’s son is ‘elected’ President, not w/o controversy.

Who lands in his cabinet as Secretary of State? Colin Powell.

Who’ gives that famous UN speech about an Imminent threat to the US from weapons of mass destruction owned by Saddam Hussein & claims Al Qaeda is in Iraq, two years after 9-11..?

Colin Powell.

We all know the veracity of those claims. Then we later learned it was Colin Powell who told Hillary Clinton to set up a **private server** to conduct official business **to avoid FOIA**.

A political officer in uniform who didnt give a single fuck for untold number of lives….

…he destroyed to further his own military & political career, & contacts.

Lets go back in time to the 1980’s for another example.

Everyone knows what SEAL Team VI, now known as DEVGRU is. When ‘six’ was stood up, by Cdr Marcinko, it was a small unit. Appx 120 men & officers.

Its no secret that Cdr Marcinko made three lifetimes worth of political enemies…

..during his time as CO of ‘six’. What he never dreamed of was that when Navy NCIS came for him, & those enemies came for payback, the star witness was one of his Jr officers at ‘six’— Bill McRaven.

Bill McRaven went on to later command ‘six’ & was given the command according to some ‘to restore order & discipline’ to the ranks. Read: purge any Marcinko loyal officers or enlisted & find ways to destroy their careers.

Bill McRaven’s greatest hits don’t end there. As CINC-USSOCOM under Barack Obama, after the US Media (deliberately?) misreported an incident involving MARSOC (USMC SOC) members, framing it as war crimes, McRaven jumped into action doing political favors to advance his career.

Bill ordered the court martial of those Marines as sacrificial goats, all were found not guilty. McRaven then went on in the wake of that to restrict SOF units in Afghanistan to Rules Of Engagement that..

..**required** SOF units including Tier 1 special mission units **to announce their presence** and NOT shoot first during raids.

These ROE resulted in the loss & wounding of operators in country.

But not to be outdone, he really showed just what a political officer he was when he penned an Op-Ed in the NY Times openly calling for the US Military to stage a military coup against then sitting president, @realDonaldTrump.

@realDonaldTrump And I’m certain I don’t have to remind you about former Chairman of JCS Mark Milley, husband insubordination, his willingness to betray his country to china, & many more examples, for Political reasons.

Just like Mark Milley.

Just like William McRaven.

Their politicians in uniform who’s careers were made from the blood & guts of ACTUAL Heroes.

@realDonaldTrump The next time some Flag Rank officer steps up to criticize & smear @realDonaldTrump for going to Arlington Natl Cemetery to honor the thirteen fallen heroes from abby gate, Kabul, you ask them:

Why the Hell weren’t YOU there with those families paying respect?

Because being there to honor those fallen isn’t profitable to them & they don’t give a fuck about them or their families.
