SitRep - 03/09/24 - Disaster in Poltava..

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Russia attacked Poltava with two ballistic missiles, leading to currently 51 people killed and 271 injured. Russia claims it hit a military unit.

As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours. We include visually confirmed damaged or destroyed equipment and/or personnel.
Overnight, another 27 Shahed drones were shot down, 6 were landed through EW means.
Additional drones were taken out in the southern direction.
Russia lost another Mi-8 helicopter. That is two in one week now.
In counterattack operations near Makiivka in the Luhansk region, several Russians were captured.
A 2S3 Akatsiya self propelled howitzer destroyed.
RAROG batallion destroyed several Russian pieces of heavy equipment such as MT-LBs and BMPs.
Another Russian column taken out in the Pokrovsk direction.
The 46th Air Mobile Brigade defending positions in the east also repelled a big mechanized attack.
Lets continue with the general events. Yet another risk situation could emerge at the ZNPP. Russia is playing with fire.
In an interview with CNN, Kamyshin revealed that Ukraine has both missile and/or drone capabilities to strike as deep as 1500km in Russian territory.
The US is close to supplying Ukraine with JASSM long-range capabilities.
Bulgaria confirmed it has sent aid to Ukraine. It was never really clear how much and what Bulgaria had already sent to Ukraine.
Russia might have committed yet another warcrime by shooting unarmed prisoners of war, based on reports from a Ukrainian serviceman.
Mongolia clarified why it didn't arrest Putin.
Today, several Ukrainian high ranking officials submitted their resignation letters. Kamyshin will keep working in the defense sector.
Ukrainian member of Parliament Arakhamia also hinted towards a big government reshuffle.
Dmytro Kuleba will likely be dismissed as well.
The Patriot system from Romania can almost be sent to Ukraine, only a signature of the President is needed.
Norway allocates new aid to Ukraine. Mainly to the drone and air defense initiative.
Ukraine intends to keep the recently captured parts of the Kursk region as a bargain chip in future negotiations.
Britain has announced new aid to Ukraine.

Toretsk direction

➡️Russians have advanced towards the center of Toretsk along the T0516 highway going south west. This looks to be the main axis of attack while no advances have been recorded south of Toretsk. Image
Pokrovsk-Selydove

➡️Russia occupied Mykhailiivka
➡️The AFU has repelled several attacks towards Selydove. Russians have situated them on the eastern outskirts but are facing heavy resistance
➡️North of Selydove, the AFU has counterattacked towards Novohrodivka in the aqua area Image
Near Vuhledar, the situation is also tense with Russian forces trying to encircle Vuhledar.

Kursk and border operations - Day #28 - The AFU advance north of Sudzha

An overview of all events happening in Kursk and other border area's is combined into this thread.

According to DeepState, and additionally confirmed by geolocated footage of Ukrainian units inside Pogrebki, the AFU has advanced north of Malaya Lohknya and captured the remains of Malaya Lohknya, Nikolaevka, Staraya Sorochina, Novaya Sorochina, Orlovka, Pogrebki and Mar'evka. We recently already hinted that this area could become problematic for Russian forces as Ukraine was also advancing east of it.

Ukrainian paratroopers in the Kursk region have captured seven Russian tanks, including one T-90M, four T-80 BVMs, and two T-72s. Some of these tanks are nearly new, having just come off the assembly line, while others require repairs.
