SitRep - 11/09/24 - Russian counterattacks in Kursk really started
An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Russia's counterattack in Kursk started, Blinken and Lammy visited Kyiv and finally approval for long-range strikes?
As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours reported by the Ukrainian General Staff. We also include visually confirmed damaged or destroyed equipment and/or personnel.
Russia lost a Su-30M over the Black Sea. There are rumors that a Ukrainian SSO fighter shot it down with MANPADS while conducting an operation near one of the oil rigs in the Black Sea. Unconfirmed, but the Su-30M is down.
Lets continue with the general events. Harris and Trump had their first debate, and briefly talked about Ukraine. It is very clear that Trump does not intend to let Ukraine win, but want to settle the war with Ukraine conceding territory to Russia.
In regards to lifting restrictions on the use of long-range weapons inside Russia: Blinken and Lammy spoke to Zelenskyi and will now report back to Starmer and Biden. It seems like restrictions will be lifted soon.
This morning, confirmation came about Russia's counter offensive in the Kursk region, with local success. We have checked several sources, and can confirm that Russian indeed reclaimed territory. Although not as much as claimed. Fog of war...
The situation in the Kursk region now looks more or less like this. Russians made their way into Snagost', gained ground near Korenevo, and reportedly occupied Vishnevka, Apanasovka, Byakhove, Vnezapnoe, Viktorovka and Gordeevka. AFU launched attacks near the border.
While Russia is conducting offensive actions, several Russian sources reported that Ukraine was conducting attacks in the rear of the Russian contingent that is attacking Ukrainian units near Snagost.
Attacks near Medvezh'e and Novyi Put' were reported with Ukrainian units reportedly already grabbing a foothold there. We need more confirmation to change the map.
➡️The AFU was able to restore positions north east of Selydove and even retook positions inside Marynivka
➡️Russia managed to advance inside Ukrainsk, and occupied Lysivka (adjacent settlement).
