Kursk and border operations - Day #38 - Did Russia's advance in Kursk already slow down?
--
An overview of all events happening in Kursk and other border regions, combined in this thread. After a counterattack was announced yesterday with much fanfare, it has been quiet on the Russian channels since this morning. Is the success disappointing?
Did you miss the events happening yesterday? Check them out here.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Russian forces are successfully pushing Ukrainian troops out of the Kursk region.
An update from a Russian source regarding Kursk.
➡️Russia would control from Snagos' and to the south, from Korenevo south-east and the area up to Obukhovka (both highlighted in aqua)
➡️Ukraine tried to attack towards Glushkovo railway station with the support of armored vehicles but was allegedly repelled.
Most interesting is his claim of renewed fighting near Kromskie Byki, on the northern part of the Kursk front. This could mean the AFU was able to push deeper towards the settlement after recently capturing Pogrebki and adjacent area's or that it has bypassed Kauchuk.
According to Russian sources:
”Greetings, yesterday we repulsed several Ukrainian attacks near Sergeevka, Kursk region, today they continue to come, the situation is tense, but we are holding on. Victory will be for us!”
Sergeevka is just south of Medvezh'e where Ukrainian attacks and a breaktrough of the border was reported.
According to several Russian channels, Lyubymovka in the Kursk region is now being stormed by Russian forces. We cannot determine whether this holds any truth, as the 'recapture' of settlements nearby like Snagost' and Obuhkhovka have not been confirmed yet.
Meanwhile, Russian sources also report that Ukrainian troops, for a second day in a row, have not stopped their attacks at another border area in the Kursk region near Novyi Put'. They reportedly pulled up heavy equipment.
Normally, when these kinds of claims are made by Russians, the advance is already somewhat further. But we'll wait and see.
The 501st Separate Marine Battalion is using FPV drones to stop a Russian assault in Vyshneve, Kursk region.
Map update in the Kursk region. We can confirm that Russia retook two settlements so far: Krasnooktyabr'skoe and Komarovka. Russian forces have approached Vishnevka, but so far presence inside the settlement has not been confirmed. Ukrainians were still seen present in Snagost'.
Putin has ordered his military to push Ukrainian forces out of the Kursk region by October 1, according to a report by Forbes.
Russians have begun counteroffensive actions in the Kursk region, and everything is going according to Ukraine's plan, said President Zelensky.
The 14th Regiment of Unmanned Drones used HIMARS with cluster munitions to target a large concentration of Russian troops in the Kursk region. These enemy units were gathering in preparation for assaulting Ukrainian positions.
A Russian remote mining engineering system called "Zemledelie" was destroyed in the Kursk region. The target is very rare and significant.
Akhmat commander Apti Aclowninov claimed that Ukrainian forces are allegedly killing their own soldiers who attempt to surrender. He stated that only one or two out of every ten captured soldiers are successfully brought to a safe zone.

A Ukrainian engineering vehicle clears a passage for infantry, clearing "dragon's teeth" on the border with Kursk Oblast, just west of Novyi Put' where skirmishes were already reported. A bogged down tank is behind the engineering vehicle.
According to Russian sources, Ukrainian units managed to breach the border near Novyi Put' and infiltrated the areas south of Veseloe (about 3 km from the border). Most likely going eastward along the treeline.
"Armored vehicles and other vehicles delivered infantry scattered across the ‘green belt’, whose task is to take our strongholds. Combat work is now under way to destroy the enemy."
Ukrainian advance confirmed on the map.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have created facilities resembling "concentration camps" in the Kursk region for civilians. This information comes from a report by Miroschnik obtained by Russian state agency TASS.
New updates from the Kursk region. According to Russian sources. According to Roman Alekhin, a military volunteer and advisor to the governor of the Kursk region, the AFU has entered Veseloye.
"The enemy is actively pressing towards Glushkovo settlement. There is information that with the support of tanks the enemy entered the village of Veseloye. Our Air Force is actively working. The night will be hard for ours. We pray for our soldiers."
