On this 500th day of violence, I captured satellite images of the most affected districts — Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Bishnupur, and Imphal East. These images show entire villages destroyed across these areas. The violence began in Imphal and Churachandpur, where Kukis living in Imphal and Meiteis in Churachandpur were targeted. This soon escalated into a cycle of attacks from both sides.

As I was on my way to Jamia to cover the issue of a BBC documentary, I noticed the large police presence outside the campus. My colleague and I were discussing the situation when our cab driver made a shocking comment linking Muslims to terrorism.
He stated that the police should be there as this is a place of terrorists, terrorists are living here. I couldn't believe what I was hearing and I asked him who he thought were these terrorists? He replied that Muslims living here obviously, they can do bomb blasts anytime.
I was taken aback by this stereotype, and I asked him why he thought Muslims are terrorists. He replied that there is nothing thinking like that, but it’s a truth
