wow -- Dana Bash with a brutal fact-check of JD Vance after Vance smears *legal* Haitian immigrants in Springfield with debunked claims. Vance responds by calling what she said "disgusting" as Bash looks shocked at him making it personal.
JD Vance downplays bomb threats against his own constituents: "We can condemn the violence on the one hand but also talk about the terrible consequences of Kamala Harris's open border on the other hand."
Vance admits he hasn't actually been to Springfield to investigate the libels he's pushing against the Haitian-American community. He then gets mad at Bash for not letting him speak without interruption. (Look at how dead his eyes are.)
Vance claims he and Trump have to "create stories" about migrants eating cats and dogs "so that the American media actually pays attention to the suffering of the American people."
There is then some awkward dead air as Bash tries to highlight the absurdity of what he just said
Vance on Proud Boys marching in Springfield because of his smears: "I think we have to keep our focus not on 12 marchers going down the street but on the fact that thousands of residents have had their lives destroyed by Kamala Harris's policy."
Vance winds down the interview by trying to shame Bash for fact-checking him: "Doesn't that mean you should shut up about the residents of Springfield?"
Vance then challenges Bash to bring on a person who claims migrants have eaten their cat.

Harris walks right up to Trump and shakes his hand
Liz Cheney on ABC: "I've been voting for 40 years. My first vote was for Ronald Reagan in 1984. I've never voted for a Democrat. It tells you the stakes in this election. Donald Trump presents a challenge and threat fundamentally to the republic. We see it on a daily basis. Somebody who was willing to use violence in order to attempt to seize power, to stay in power ... we have to do everything possible to ensure he's not reelected. Given how close this race is, in my view it's not enough -- you have many Republicans out there who are saying, 'Well, we're not gonna vote for him but we'll write someone else in' -- I think this time around that's not enough, that it's important to actually cast a vote for Vice President Harris."
Liz Cheney: "I have never viewed this as a policy election ... Trump is not a conservative."
Cheney: "The Republicans have nominated someone who is depraved ... the choice in my view is not a close one."
Trump's bulletproof enclosure is visible in front of him as he speaks today in Mosinee, Wisconsin
Trump on the military generals who like him: "They're not going woke. You could put them in a room for 2 years and scream woke crap to them, and they'd walk out and they wouldn't be changed. They're not going woke."
Trump on Elon Musk: "Great guy ... oh, look, there's a rocket flying up there. It's Elon ... Leon is gonna send up a rocket."
