SitRep - 17/09/24 - AFU advances in Vovchansk

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Ukrainian units advanced in Vovchansk, kicking Russians out of the aggregrate plant. Heavy fighting near Pokrovsk continues.

As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours.
Another Russian Shahed attack on Ukraine, was mostly repelled.
In Saratov, Engels' air base was visited by drones. Explosions were heard.
A HIMARS strike on a Russian accumulation of forces killed dozens of Russian servicemen.
The Ukrainian Navy reported on the destruction of an ammunition depot near occupied Mariupol.
Aftermath images appeared pretty fast.
Satellite images also confirmed scorched earth and a wide area that was affected.
A Russian BMP/BMD ran over its own troops before being finished off by what looks to be artillery.
Russian destroyed equipment in the Kursk region.
We continue with general events. Not depending on the US, the EU is finalizing its own financial aid package for Ukraine without Hungary having the opportunity to VETO it.
Another Russian war crime was reported, this time in Novohrodivka.
Germany announced new aid.
WSJ made a guestimate about the losses on both sides which is very hard to predict.
Qatar will buy RCH 155mm artillery systems and in return will send 12 of its PzH2000 systems. They will be refurbished and sent to Ukraine.
Russian propaganda state media outlet RT has been banned on Meta.
The US has reportedly already seen Zelenskyi's victory plan and calls it effective.

Kursk region. Ukrainian units have advanced towards the eastern part of Krasnooktyabr'skiy. Previously we stated that the whole settlement was under UA control, but we have to withdraw that statement. Our call was too premature as it turned out. Image
Ukrainian units advanced in Vovchansk.
Kupyansk direction. Russian forces advanced north of Stelmakhivka and occupied the remaining part of what was considered a gray zone near Novoselivske. Berestove is believed to be under Ukrainian control still. Image
Pokrovsk direction. Russian forces have cleaned up the area near Nevelske, where Ukrainian forces reportedly left after facing a threath of encirclement. Russia also occupied Ukrainsk and is moving west. Fighting has broken out in Zhelanne Pershe. Image

SitRep - 14/09/24 - 103 Ukrainian heroes returned

According to Russian sources, Ukraine has captured Veseloye. There is also information that Ukraine has already moved east on the road towards Glushkovo. Furthermore this source expressed not much optimism about the ongoing counterattack by Russia.
