Emblem of the Hoysala Empire – ‘The legendary Sala founder of Hoysala Dynasty fighting and killing the Tiger to save his Guru’
The emblem of the Hoysala kingdom is a mythical lion-like creature called Sala. It can be seen at several Hoysala temples, including the Shri Chennakeshava Swami Temple, Belur and Hoysaleshwara Temple. The emblem provides a fascinating insight into the empire's history & artistic
traditions. The Hoysala Empire flourished from the 10th to the 14th centuries. The Hoysaleswara Temple, also known as the Halebidu temple, is a 12th-century Hindu temple dedicated to the god Shiva. It is the largest monument in Halebidu, a town in the state of Karnataka, India
and the former capital of the Hoysala Empire.
The Legend: This legend finds mention in the Belur inscription of Vishnuvardhana.
Sala saved his Jain guru Sudatta by striking dead a tiger he encountered near the temple of Vasantika.
In a village called Sasakapura or Sosevur which
is today identified as Angadi, in the Malenadu region of Karnataka. There was an Ashrama belonging to Guru Sudatthacharya in the village. One day Sudatthacharya was preaching his students beneath the tree and Sala, the young boy was praying the local deity Vasanthika or Vasantha
Parameshwari. All of a sudden, a roaring tiger attacked the place where both Sudattha and Sala were immersed in their work.
Guru Sudatthacharya shouted Sala to come and save everyone from the Tiger. Sala ran out of the temple and started fighting with the beast. The Guru handed
Sala a sword and said ‘Poy-Sala’ which translates to ‘Strike Sala’. Sala took the sword and kill the Tiger with a single blow, immortalizing himself and his victim. The guru was so pleased that he asked Sala to establish a kingdom and the Hoysala dynasty was established with
Sosevur as the capital.
The folklore however became so popular that every temple of the Hoysalas has this story carved in stone and it became the royal emblem of the dynasty.

Recently, noticed people wasting food on their plates when many don’t have privilege to have one-time proper meal. One can rather listen to their body & only take how much they require or order what you can consume.
If you cook more food, use the leftover
the next day.
My parents always emphasized on never wasting the food on our plate or only take how much we can eat & also on Anna-daanam- to donate food.
I also remember the Mantra/prayer we use to say sitting together before our meal. Thus, taking a moment of gratitude, awareness
& patience for the food that nourishes our bodies. Behind every meal, there is a multitude of people & natural elements that have contributed to its creation.

The word ‘Som’ means ‘Moon’ & ‘Eshwar’ is Lord Shiv. Thus,he who wears Moon as a decorative object on his head is Someshwar, which is another
name of Hindu Bhagwan (God) Shiv.
There are many temples dedicated to Lord Someshwar in India. One of the oldest temples dating back to the Chola period is located in the neighbourhood of Halasuru in Bengaluru. Karnataka, India. Major modifications were made during the late
Vijayanagar Empire period under the rule of Hiriya Kempe Gowda II- a governor under the Vijayanagar Empire in early-modern India.
As per one of the legends Nadaprabhu Kempe Gowda-, was once on a hunt, rode far away from his capital Yalahanka. Being tired, he rested under a tree

Aum is the universal sound, and is not religious in nature. It signifies the essence of the ultimate reality, consciousness or Atman.
According to the chandogya Upanishad, Udgeeta is the essence of all essences, the rasa of all rasas, Udgeeta is OM

The Mandukya Upanishad is one of the smallest yet toughest one to understand. Lord Hanuman asks Lord shri Ram
the path to moksha, which He answers with Mandukya upnishad.
The Mandukya Upanishad opens by declaring, "Om!, this syllable is this whole world". Thereafter it presents various explanations and theories on what it means and signifies. This discussion is built on a structure of
