There’s a controversy around Nukit, who sells UV lamps to reduce viral transmission risks. What started as a simple customer post sharing their use of these lamps at an airport has spiraled into accusations of privilege, racism, and even doxxing. what’s really going on 👇
The controversy began when a customer, @Kevski_Bray, shared a photo at an airport cafeteria, using a Nukit UV lamp during a mandatory trip. The post went viral, garnering hundreds of thousands of views, but the reactions were overwhelmingly negative
Nukit sells highly effective UV lamps that reduce infectious aerosols, lowering the risk of viral transmission. People like me, suffering from long Covid, rely on these lamps to occasionally go out safely, especially when eating at restaurants where wearing a mask isn't possible.
For my safety, I had my hair done at home. I was equipped with 'indecency'—multiple purifiers and UV lamps. People call me 'privileged' for affording this, but they don't understand the sacrifices I make to be able to pay for it. The Nukit customers who are being attacked
I hadn’t seen my mother in years due to Long Covid. Thanks to these UV lamps, I was finally able to visit her and we even went to a restaurant. Without the lamps, the risk would have been too high.
These extremist believe I shouldn't even mention that I have these lamps, as they are frustrated about not having access to them. They attack Nukit and her security, and they belittle and blame those of us who are supposedly 'privileged' for being happy to have the UV lamps
some people—mostly extremists—criticized the use of these lamps in public, calling it a "privilege" for those who can afford them. They argued it’s unfair for people like me to use these lamps while others can't access the same technology due to financial constraints.
This criticism quickly escalated to accusations of racism against Nukit, with claims of "anti-Black racism" after the company stopped selling its lamps in North America. However, the founder had to halt sales in North America for her own safety after being doxxed
Nukit’s founder faced severe online attacks, with personal information being exposed, putting her security at risk. She had to suspend sales in North America, but despite this, she is still accused of racism. In reality, the decision was made purely for safety reasons
Even after Nukit begged people to remove the doxxed information to stop further threats, some continued to attack her, insisting she was racist for halting sales to American customers. The situation even led to her breaking up with her partner due to the risks to her family.
The root of this hostility seems to come from socio-economic frustration. Some believe that only those with medical needs should have access to these UV lamps.
But for people like me, suffering from long Covid and already so isolated, we are criticized for simply trying to go out safely, like to a restaurant. When we do, we’re unfairly seen as flaunting privilege
This situation reflects a toxic mindset where any effort to improve things is attacked unless it solves every problem for everyone all at once. This mentality stifles progress and punishes those trying to make a difference, like Nukit.
There are those who work hard and others who expect others to do all the work for them. They are entitled and often narcissistic. Nukit is part of the first group
Few people work as hard and with such a strong business ethics as Nukit, which is willing to take risks and incur losses to be fair and honest
Nukit is not just about business—there’s an ethical core to what the company does. The founder takes personal risks to distribute UV technology globally, despite the challenges. Sadly, this nuance is often lost in the public debate, overshadowed by hate and false accusations
This reminds me of a defamation case here in Quebec involving a psychologist, backed by hundreds of enraged haters, targeting a doctor in psychology and his company that offers courses. They also attacked his clients, including myself, by belittling us
Many of these people are narcissistic and have no idea what it means to work hard to help others because they only care about their image. Facts don’t matter to them; only appearances do
I’ve seen who is truly ready to help me like Nukit does, even when no one is watching and with nothing to gain except the satisfaction of helping someone. Most of those who claim to want to help the community only do so in public.
While some wonder what the planet can do for them, others, like Nukit, ask what they can do to help others
The doxxing that Nukit is experiencing, along with its consequences on the safety of her and family and partner, occurs in the indifference of those who do nothing to speak out against it, allowing lies to spread as those who actively continue to cause harm remain unchecked
All forms of activism can be useful, but what truly drives change is when people do more than just ask others to take action—they step up and take action themselves. It's easy to click and share, but real impact often requires taking calculated risks and pushing beyond the norm
🌍 A nation is built by responsible, engaged individuals who roll up their sleeves to create meaningful lives. Groups and structures are just noise; it’s each person's commitment that forges a better society. 💪 #Responsibility #Engagement
In a virtual world where we are immersed, a perverse effect is that our worries are often virtual and imaginary, leaving us feeling entitled. We live at the rhythm of dopamine and clicks, making it difficult to recognize real threats in the physical world

Far-UVC: Technology Update with an Untapped Potential to Mitigate Airborne Infectionshttps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10704226/
A single, upper-room GUV fixture delivered the equivalent of 18–110 eACH, depending on the susceptibility of the test microbe and relative humidity ,whereas a single far-UVC fixture delivered 33–66 eACH
Ventilation is a case-by-case situation and it could be very challenging, you give an example. The background noise is in the calculator i propose. You can use it to try a solution or a compromise for a specific situation.
For some challenging situation, UV will be a most 🧵
I encourage people to use calculation tools to find personalized solutions for their workplace, school, or child’s daycare, etc. I helped my friend find solutions, and it was very challenging.
Traffic noise was an issue, and we had to run tests to figure out what level of window opening was acceptable. Of course, reducing the window opening decreases the airflow (CFM). It’s not that easy, but not too complicated either.
I recently received a DM about the 45 dB figure I mentioned regarding noise levels in schools. This is a serious topic because noise pollution can significantly impact health and learning. Let me clarify where this figure comes from
🧵
The 45 dB figure is often discussed in the context of minimizing classroom noise to avoid disruptions and support effective learning. It’s a general reference rather than a strict standard.
For authoritative guidelines, the World Health Organization (WHO) and ANSI S12.60-2010 provide recommendations on noise levels. WHO suggests keeping noise below 35-40 dB to ensure a healthy and conducive learning environment.
Updated Air Purifier Analysis
Refined analysis for classrooms (38 dB background noise, 200 CFM, 28 students).
Focus on dust CADR for ASHRAE 241 and ensure total noise max 45 dB. Compare quieter vs. louder models with new data. Check it ou #ASHRAE241 #45dB
👇
Thanks to @joeyfox85 and other person, I’ve adjusted the analysis to reflect that #ASHRAE241 considers infectious aerosols as 0.3x smoke + 0.4x dust + 0.3x pollen. Intertek tests show 5% of the dust CADR. This adjustment ensures more accurate evaluation and easier to meet goals
I’ve also added some devices, including a few that are installed in schools across North America and selected by government agencies : Dyson HPO4, Trio plus, IQAir HealthPro Plus, Medify MA-112 and Honeywell HPA300
