MSNBC chose a hell of a guy to platform as a paragon of virtue and journalistic integrity.
Spoiler alert: He hates Jews, hangs out with Hamas officials, and glorifies Palestinian "resistance" 🧵
Meet Mohammed Rafik Mhawish, a journalist from Gaza who contributes to several progressive outlets like The Nation and MSNBC, as well as Islamist and terror-supporting outlets like Al Jazeera, which he wrote for between October 2023 and May 2024
Here he is with Hamas official Basem Naim
And here he is glorifying now-dead Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh
Mohammed also supports Palestinian "resistance," a thinly veiled euphemism for terrorism
In this very MSBNC piece, he admits to being buddy buddy with Ismail al-Ghoul, a Hamas Nukhba terrorist who took part in the October 7th massacre.
Unsurprisingly, given his love of terrorists, Mohammed also equates Zionism—the belief in the Jewish right to self-determination in their ancestral homeland—as Nazism.
But don't worry, he's "just anti-Zionist."

Other Disturbing Incidents at Gaza's Nasser Hospital 🧵
In May 2025, the IDF targeted a small area of the hospital complex, killing Hamas “journalist” Hassan Eslaiah, as well as Hamas Colonel Ahmad Al-Qidra, head of the so-called “Counterterrorism” Unit in Khan Younis.
One month prior, @AbuAliEnglishB1 reported that Hamas’ Interior Ministry ordered a Gaza resident to appear for interrogation inside Nasser Hospital. The document was signed:
"Ministry of Interior, West Khan Younis Police, Investigations Dept., Nasser Hospital."
Also in April 2025, @Yair__Lahav reported that Islamic Jihad threatened the head of nursing at Nasser Hospital in Gaza.
"You have crossed the line.. Wait!!
This is the first message...
— Saraya al-Quds"
Here’s the video posted by Hamas member Ramy. It’s been deliberately manipulated, either with AI or other methods, to make it look obviously altered and unnatural.
Hours later, after people noted the video was clearly manipulated, Hamas member Ramy posted more footage of the poor old man—who clearly has a preexisting condition.
The goal was for Ramy to be able to go and say “gotcha." And honestly? He got me this time.
Leave it to @NorthwesternU to recruit an Advisory Board member of JVP — a group that supports Hamas and seeks to dismantle Israel — to teach a course on the Holocaust.
Meet Barry Trachtenberg 🧵
Barry chairs the Jewish Studies department at Wake Forest University.
He's also teaching a summer course on Jewish history at Northwestern's Institute on the Holocaust and Jewish Civilization.
Barry cares deeply about antisemitism.
So deeply, in fact, that he wants people to stop talking about it because it's a non-issue, according to him.
