The eye collapsed as it hit the coast. This is it, the worst is over. Praise God, He has done this, He answered our prayers, give glory to Him.
And the surge is actually lower than the normal tide. This is nothing short of a miracle 
Still a dangerous hurricane, don't want to downplay this, but nothing compared to what we were staring down just 12 hours ago. There will still be some damage, localized flooding, and all the hazards that go along with that, but not the Florida ending storm that was predicted
Now a cat 2! 110mph, rapid weakening!!! This may not be a hurricane by morning, keep praying!!!

In my many years of hurricane experience (20+, more named storms than fingers, Wilma Katrina to name a few) I've never seen an eye collapse like this as it hits the coast. It brings me great joy that the overwhelming response has been to give the glory and thanks to God ๐
Many people are still affected by flooding and damage from tornadoes. This was a deadly storm and people need our prayers more than ever, however, compared to the category 5 monster we were facing earlier in the week this was very mild. Catastrophe averted. Praise God!
