🚨 Big medicine/insurance horror story!

My friend (and patient) is a lovely lady who has CF (cystic fibrosis). A genetic illness that alters salt excretion.

This makes mucus in the lungs thicker and prone to infections that become hard to treat.

It reduces digestive enzymes from the pancreas.
Nearly 7 years ago, she became pregnant and was told to abort her baby.

She is now mom to 3 beautiful girls and has another on the way. 💗💗💗❤️
She has been on a life-changing medicine for years now, Trikafkta

She’s been on the medicine for 4 years now, which keeps mucus in check.

(She also takes pancreatic enzymes with each meal) Image

After 18 long months

A thread 🧵
2 🧵/ My goal from day 1 of covid was being in the very top percentage of docs successfully treating it.
3🧵/ after 9 months of being in the ICU trenches and reading about hundreds (thousands?) of treatment possibilities, yet seeing none work, ivermectin hit the radar.

@PierreKory ‘s testimony from WI legislature finally penetrated the censorship blanket.

Modern American medicine today…
From @james_clinic

Patient in the office with back pain, abdominal pain and 102 fever.

Complex abd surgical history
Pretty straightforward:

✅ IV fluids
✅ pain control (toradol)
✅ iv antibiotics
✅ CT scan

Patient was onboard and motivated to stay out of hospital.
Then the fun starts.

I don’t use blood culture tubes often and being a new clinic didn’t have them.

Quest was unable to deliver them.

My team went to site few blocks away and they refused to give her said tubes (for replacement once we ordered)

Thanks for the help.

Is DM-2 reversible (ie, curable)?
@james_clinic is seeing amazing impacts daily with our interventions:

✅ continuous glucose monitors tell you EXACTLY how your body is responding to the food you are eating.

✅ we can usually get 2/$70 (month supply) using @GoodRx card in our area
We are using the book #GlucoseRevolution by @jessieinchaupse to inform patients about ways to

✅ change the order of what you eat
✅pair carbs with fats and protein
✅ keep glucose 80-110 and avoid pro-inflammatory spikes

Just that is changing lives!!
