“The election day took place in the context of serious and substantial violations. […] it became clear […] problems identified during the monitoring of the election process during the day were part of a larger scheme, […] to subvert the final result of the election.”

Perhaps the most concise comment is from parody account Darth Putin: “Have occupied Georgia without needing to invade it. I just bought some traitors. Easy.”
Some of you may recall me pushing back on claims or implications by Winston Peters and his party that WHO might "control" or "direct" NZ policy.
Here is WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanhom Ghebreyesus speaking on this⬇️
1/
Note how Dr Ghebreyesus calls out politicians in particular towards the end of the second passage. I’ve called out Winston Peters on this from his earliest claims (that I’m aware of) on this platform. WHO drafts explicitly rule it out, including the documents Peters pointed at

Where is this coming from? My guess is he’s echoing back what ‘anti-’ supporters ‘want’ to hear from him.
It’s a "new world order" type conspiracy that circulates amongst some people who oppose vaccines, lockdowns (and a long list other things).

Occasionally I remind ppl much of the COVID-19 "lab leak" story from the USA is political theatre.
This from the (Republican-led) Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic⬇️
“Explosive”, “Get your popcorn ready folks...” is not the language of committees or investigation.
They then go on to name senior people, throwing accusations on them. The sort of accusations you see on the sillier parts of the internet.
Again, not the actions or language of a committee or investigation.
This is on the back of previous accusations of a "cover up" like this subpoena of an academia, seemingly because the conclusions of a research paper don’t fit a lab leak narrative.
Wearing a mask😷 isn’t much of a hassle😊
It’s a trifle, really, given the reduction in risk they bring for everyone (not just you).
Masks work best if everyone masks, lowering spread from each person, and reducing entry into each person. It’s about stacking up protections
More⬇️
Stack up all the protections, including:
- Keep up to date with your vaccinations
- Test before travelling (also before visits to vulnerable people and attending indoor or close-packed outdoor events)
- **Stay at home if you’re ill**
- More in the graphic below.
Please wear masks😊
Physical distancing helps, but aerosol spread is big part of it too.
Aerosols waft, "floating" in the air.
That’s why ventilation and filters help.
Masks reduce spreading diseased aerosol in shared spaces – indoors or close to others outdoors.

Isolate if you’re infectious (= positive RAT test or have symptoms). You never know who your infection will spread to. In the end it’ll reach someone whose body can’t easily cope with it. And even “milder” cases cause long-COVID, an ugly thing to have.
More⬇️
Keep your vaccines up to date!
The less vaccinated you are, the greater the risk to you and others, esp. if you are older or vulnerable.
There is quite a big benefit from keeping up to date.
