Right now in Redlands, a lot of us are fully captivated by a small drama. It’s important that I explain it here because it’s truly hilarious.

For anyone who doesn’t know, Redlands, California is currently the target for extremist right wingers trying to take over our school board. These crazies have hella funding and connections to the CNP.

Anyway, myself among other organizers, have been working very hard on an information campaign to make sure our local community is informed on this often neglected down ballot position.

One of these candidates is Candy Olson, a freakishly wide eyed, translucent Q pilled nurse who wants to ban books and enlists the help of Proud Boys to try and shut me up.

As per her Leadership Institute training/Karen England training she’s been trying very hard to appear normal and rational, in an effort to rehabilitate her crazy lady reputation

But she can’t totally pull it off, because, well, she’s batshit.
Candy Olson has been spotted by numerous people destroying roadside shrines.

There is one in particular that is on a road that many local parents take in the morning to drop their kids off to school. This is exactly why so many people have seen her do this.

We’ve gotten plenty of DM’s about this and have just laughed it off bc it’s so fucking bizarre. Some folks have even witnessed the school board candidate’s, husband, Chad Olson stopping on his way to drop off the kids to hop out of his truck, barefoot even, and destroy the shrine

My friends and I have jokingly called this “Shrine Watch 2024”

What I really want to know is, who is putting these shrines up so diligently? They clearly are aware of the fact that Candy Olsen destroys them and defiantly re-creates them.

Anyway, some folks have decided to start filming Candy and Chad and are sending the vids to us. Someone posted a video to TikTok where it’s going viral.

These school board candidates have wacko supporters and one of them is a local pastor, “Heather Holly-Baeumel, it’s important to note that she pronounces her name “Heather Holy Bible”, no I’m not kidding.

Baeumel is a pray-the-gay away pastor at True Grace Church, (she also runs a driving school out of this church “Guardian Angel Driving School”)

She’s one of those pastors that makes people fall to the floor and writhe around when she touches their forehead, that type of shit

We started paying attention to Baeumel after she showed up to a school board meeting shouting “THERE ARE NO LGBTQ CHILDREN!”. Months ago she posted a TikTok destroying a roadside shrine & declaring the land hers “in the name of Jesus Christ”

We knew Baeumel supported Candy Olson, but we had no idea how much Candy bought into this wild ass evangelical grift. But when we started getting messages about candy, tearing down rides, we all immediately remembered the TikTok’s by the.True Grace Church pastor.

What’s most baffling is that unlike Baeumel, Candy never posts her shrine destruction. She’s running for school board as part of a 3 person slate championing book banning and with plenty of anti-trans rhetoric. So it seems reasonable that she would add this to her performance.

But apparently this REALLY FUCKING DISTURBING behavior is just her doing shit that she actually believes in. Not for the campaign, in fact she made a point not to post about it probably fully aware of how alienating and strange this behavior is

Okay so since more people are here than I expected I feel a responsibility to tell more about the slate that Candy Olson is running with. They are running under the name of the group Candy founded, Awaken Redlands.

First up, Jeannette Wilson.
Took a quite if a bit of digging bc she’s quieter than the others but a little trip to the courthouse revealed that the social work she leans was for ChildNet.

Jeannette Wilson was the regional director of the foster agency that placed the Turpin children in an abusive foster home

There was also no evidence that she was ever a professor. She claims to have taught at the same university that I have taught at so I checked.

Next up, Lawrence Hebron. This shit is a doozy. This is LITERALLY the picture he chose for his website

Hebron claims to have a history as an educator, but a closer look reveals that he taught at now bankrupt private Christian school. Private Christian schools do not require California educator licensing or credentialing.

This school shut down and never refunded the parents

But worse is, the books he’s written. Most notably,
“Islam Exposed: What You Need to Know about the World's Most Dangerous Religion” where Hebron refers to Muslims in the US as a “cancer cell”, and states that the country should make “all Islamic nations penitentiaries.”

When confronted about this at a Redlands school board meeting he said “We need to give them (Muslims) the opportunity to escape their own religion.”  When asked if Hebron feels that Muslim children in our district should be deported he responded, “Yes.”

I forgot to share! Candy Olson is entirely responsible for the Proud Boy presence here in Redlands. It started 2 yrs ago when she was running a campaign for another extremist that (failed). But in her efforts to intimidate us at school board meetings, she enlisted PBs and J6ers

The Proud Boys that Olson brought to Redlands started littering Redlands w/ hateful banners/stickers. We created a rapid response team to clean it up & track the events. We just launched a visual StoryMap to help locals understand how prevalent this is.

My friends over at @SafeRedlandsk12 (SRS) and I are super blocked by Candy but a screenshot from her fb made its way to us. Confirmed: she thinks these shrines with sticky notes of affirmations are satanic

@SafeRedlandsk12 Carolyn is a Mormon lady whose anti-vaxx daughter owns a local bakery that’s embroiled in lawsuits (another thread for another day). Candy got wind of another republican (w/an actual background in k-12) splitting the vote, lost her damn mind and has been harassing this woman
