🧵 THREAD: THE 10 BIGGEST BLUNDERS IN THE 2025 SPENDING BILL

The 2025 Continuing Appropriations & Disaster Relief Act was drafted to avoid a shutdown, but it’s jam-packed with questionable spending that makes you wonder, “Wait, they’re paying for what?!”

Here are 10 of the wildest uses of taxpayer dollars in this bill. ⬇️

1. $30.78 BILLION FOR CROP & LIVESTOCK LOSSES

Disaster relief for farmers is essential, but this massive allocation for “necessary expenses” is so loosely defined it feels like a blank check.

It includes $2B for livestock losses, block grants to states, and even compensation for timber and poultry.

Sounds good, right?

Here’s the problem: there’s little oversight or clarity on how states will use these funds.

With $30.78B on the line, shouldn’t we know where the money is going? Feels like a recipe for inefficiency.

2. $42.5 MILLION FOR USDA RESEARCH BUILDINGS

In the middle of a spending crisis, the USDA gets $42.5M to upgrade research facilities.

Is upgrading labs important?

Sure.

But during a stopgap budget bill to avert a shutdown?

Maybe not the best timing.

When people hear "emergency spending," they probably think disaster relief or healthcare, not a new coat of paint on agricultural buildings.

This allocation could’ve waited—unless there’s some groundbreaking corn research we don’t know about.

Today, the gaming industry has evolved so much that it is larger than the film, television, and music industries combined!

1. TENNIS FOR TWO: THE FIRST VIDEO GAME

Tennis for Two — the first video game created for the sake of entertainment — was developed in 1958 by physicist William Higinbotham.

Not long after, Spacewar! was created in 1962.

2. THE BIRTH OF ARCADES

After Tennis for Two and Spacewar!, it was only a matter of time before someone realized there was a market for video games.

However, there was a problem: how would you get people to pay to play a game using such an exclusive technology?

And so, arcade machines were born — players would buy tokens or insert quarters into the machines, allowing them to play until they lost.

The first two games that defined the arcade era were Computer Space (1971) and Pong (1972).

1/ The Sykes-Picot Agreement (1916)

France and Britain secretly carved up Ottoman lands during WWI. Syria was handed to France, despite promises of Arab independence made to local leaders.

This betrayal planted the seeds of distrust toward Western powers and set the stage for borders that still fuel conflict today.

2/ Independence from France (1946)

After years of colonial rule, Syria became independent.

But instead of unity, political instability reigned, with 20 coups in 24 years. Nationalism was strong, but finding a leader everyone could agree on?

Not so much. Independence came at the cost of cohesion.

🧵SHOCK STUDY: DEI TRAINING MAY ACTUALLY INCREASE RACIAL HOSTILITY

A major study on DEI programs just revealed a disturbing trend:

Common anti-racism training might actually increase hostility and bias.

Here's what the data shows👇

1/ Perceiving Racism Where None Exists 🤨

People who went through popular DEI training were more likely to see racism in completely neutral situations.

The study found participants reading Kendi/DiAngelo materials jumped to conclusions about discrimination where none existed.

2/ Increased Punitiveness Toward Perceived Transgressors 😠

The training created a punitive mindset.

Participants exposed to these materials pushed for harsher punishments against perceived offenders, even without evidence of actual wrongdoing.

The Fed controls the U.S. money supply, interest rates, and monetary policy.

Created in 1913 as a central bank to stabilize the economy after repeated financial crises.

Now, some want to “End the Fed."

🇺🇸 FEDERAL RESERVE TODAY BY THE NUMBERS:

• The U.S. dollar’s purchasing power has dropped 96% since the Fed’s creation in 1913.

• In 1960, the national debt was $286 billion. Today, it exceeds $33 trillion, much of it tied to Fed-influenced policies.

• Critics argue the Fed inflates bubbles, fuels debt, and bails out banks at public expense.

• In 2024, the Fed plans to print 5.3–6.9 billion notes, valued at $180.5B–$204.4B.

🇺🇸 BEFORE THE FEDERAL RESERVE: CHAOS IN AMERICAN BANKING

• During the free banking era (1837–1863), over 8,000 different bank-issued currencies circulated, leading to widespread confusion and counterfeiting.

• The National Banking Act of 1864 introduced standardized currency backed by U.S. bonds, but financial panics and bank runs still plagued the system.

• This instability paved the way for the Federal Reserve’s creation in 1913, aiming to centralize and stabilize U.S. banking.
