We have verified the credentials of two members of staff working in the Darlington Memorial Hospital who have supplied us a number of facts the public should know about these five 'caring' professionals.
Read on...
The 'five' do not enjoy much support at all within the hospital. Indeed any mention of the five amongst the other staff in conversations has been to criticise and some cases express anger or disgust of their actions.
The other staff genuinely believe that the 'five' are not representative of the values of the majority of their other colleagues either professionally or as individuals.
Regards the changing room situation: Many wards and departments do not have separate male/female changing rooms at all. Many staff members have been directed to get changed in store cupboards, staff toilets or to use the sole staff changing room after checking it was unoccupied.
This has gone on for many years, especially with temporary staff. No-one has raised any issues. One ward described has no dedicated changing room for staff and staff got changed in a staff room which doubled up as a changing room. Again, no issues.
Staff may find it difficult to use the facilities of other wards as they are typically keypad-coded to prevent staff property getting nicked. The separate changing room for females (general) and females (Gender Critical) is in line with trust policy
That policy regarding trans and non-binary peoples' use of changing facilities & toilets, is that people belong in the facility that they perceive themselves to belong in, and explicitly places the onus on anyone with a problem with anyone using a facility to seek an alternative
themselves as THEY are the ones with the problem. The gender critical changing room IS A BETTER FACILITY than what many male staff are given, despite their criticism of it. A&E has a male changing room, theatres/ITU have a shared male changing room; beyond that most wards don't.
Regards to the 'five's petition, they employed downright deception.
The petition gathering signatures by the 'five', as-stated to the Media was asking for ‘single sex’ facilities. IT WAS NOT. This petition was taken ward-to-ward by a DNU supporting staff member to..
get people to sign it, portraying it as a generic petition for 'improved changing facilities for staff' and it did NOT explicitly state it was to ban trans staff from changing rooms which aligned with their gender over birth sex.
Many staff who signed the petition, did so without fully understanding what it was asking for and there is great resentment at this cruel deception.
As for Wes Streeting, he did not enter the hospital despite Labour campaigners posing for photographs outside near the ambulance bay entrance to the Emergency Department. There is upset at Streeting's hypocrisy that he only came up here to meet a specific group of staff..
whose views align with his on this one issue while being totally uninterested with the wellbeing of most other NHS staff beyond the campaign photos. What is more damning of Wes Streeting, a local politician confirmed Streetings statement on this issue came about 20 minutes after
the story broke with the press, and that Wes Streeting had advanced warning of its release so he could give his pre-prepared reply. When the 'five' discussed this with the press, shortly after this issue was leaked to the press a 20-year-old trans woman in Stockton was..
assaulted so badly she was hospitalised. As Stockton and Darlington share local newspapers, there is growing resentment at the Memorial Hospital that there may have been a level of 'cause & effect' between these two things with a trans nurse being portrayed as a pervert..
..radicalisjng the attacker to carry out that serious hate crime. This anger is building. A local trans support group has been in contact with the trust with their concerns about this matter, resulting in the trust assuring them that despite this issue that trans people could
still safely access DMH as patients without discrimination.
@LizzieCornish12 If anyone is interested…
The Darlington Five from the Memorial Hospital are trying to destroy Nursing as THE caring vocation.
They are funded by extreme right-wing christo-fascist groups with links to fascism.
We need more Whistleblowers about THEM.

Again, I ask our community to take 15 minutes of the day, and write a paper letter of complaint re. the 'Darlington Five' NHS staff who have 'outed' a trans colleague in the the most brutal way imaginable. They also named her, and placed her in great danger
