The left not giving Biden credit for things that they demanded he do is less bothersome now compared to the sobering reality that the actual voting public simply didn’t like it at all. They don’t like a great economy built with new deal liberalism. They don’t like ending wars.
The left wasn’t showing up in polls because there simply aren’t that many of them, not because polls were wrong. The Squad seems like a total electoral aberration now.
Had leftist mouthpieces been gung ho for Joe Biden and talking about how much they loved him for canceling student loans and ending wars and all that it probably amounts to half a percent in Wisconsin at best
People think I’m some closet Republican who just wants the left to be defeated. I’m not. I have my theories about why they would think that, but leaving that aside I had really hoped they were right, that new deal liberal policy would be politically successful. I believed it too.
They were all excited about Kamala, they demanded Tim Walz and got him. Did she give them everything they wanted, no. But electorally they seem to be a rounding error. And I hate it, I hate that we have a right wing country now.
The Anna Khachiyans of the world were fascists the whole time, but others I think had the view that constant criticism is the only way to “support” Dems. The problem is that the overarching theories we shared were wrong. Helping poor people and unions didn’t work.

Harris had one of the most scandal free, gaffe free, tonally correct and multitargeted campaigns I can remember. People liked her and liked her VP. It simply has become a very right wing electorate, in ways that likely have a great deal to do with social media.
People will claim she should have run farther to the left but her assessment of how right wing the environment was and what she had to do to win in it was surely correct
Trump’s campaign was nakedly racist and transphobic, and only opaquely about the economy or kitchen table issues. And it “worked.” Were people primarily motivated by these things? They certainly weren’t motivated to reject them.
They know it’s not true but it’s a thing that won’t get you in trouble with the audience because liberals are nice (this is a big reason it’s not true, ironically)
Trump voters and socialists won’t behave if you get up there and say they are the ones that suck
1. Trump turned out to actually be a fascist. Campaigned as a fascist and more or less governed as one, and when he lost an election he tried to retain power through extralegal means which culminated in a putsch in the Capitol. W for the libs here.
2. Trump and Russia, russiagate and all that. Libs were right about this one too. It turned out Russia really did hack the DNC, and Trump ended up extorting a country Russia is now invading. You can lock this one up
