🟡 BREAKING: Germany passed a new resolution that seeks to punish criticism of Israel with withdrawal of citizenship. Here’s what you need to know.
You think Germany’s anti-Palestinian crackdowns are bad? Brace yourself—things just got a whole lot worse.
The official resolution text emphasizes the need to crack down on “left-wing anti-imperialism” and adopts the far-right rhetoric of “imported anti-Semitism.” In addition, Germany may further slash funds for international aid organizations that are critical of Israel.
The resolution was drafted behind closed doors. For months, local media reported on the relentless pressure exerted by the Israeli embassy and lobbying groups on politicians. They have a looming fear of being branded "anti-Semites" or "Israel-haters" in mainstream outlets.
Critical Jewish voices warn that Germany is dividing Jews into two camps, “protecting” only unconditional loyalty to Israel. Jews critical of Israel are equally endangered by the new resolution.
The resolution increases the danger to people with Middle Eastern heritage in Germany where Islamphobia has reached extreme levels and this community has borne the brunt of the anti-Palestinian crackdown.

Could this attack have prevented WWII? On this day in 1939, the German anti-fascist and communist Georg Elser carried out an assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler and top leaders of the Nazi elite. They narrowly escaped. 🧵
Elser almost prevented the deadliest conflict in human history as Hitler only narrowly escaped Elser’s assassination attempt. But he is largely kept out of Germany’s post-war narrative due to his communist affiliations.
Elser first received political inspiration and impetus as an apprentice. He became a member of the Woodworkers’ Union and, in 1928, joined the paramilitary organization of the German Communist Party (KPD), the Red Front Fighters’ League (RFB).
The German government has collapsed. The Social Democrats’ attempt to rescue German capital’s interests by reestablishing Germany as an imperialist force has been a catastrophe. Here is what the media will not tell you. 🧵
The German government has pushed the country into three wars—Ukraine, Palestine, and Lebanon. All are funded by taxpayers while public services deteriorate.
Germany is facing critical shortages: 183 occupations are in need of workers, thousands of doctors’ practices are closing, and hundreds of thousands of spaces are lacking in daycares. The national railway system is a national embarrassment due to widespread delays.
Indian revolutionary and professor of English, Dr. G.N. Saibaba, has passed away. He died from a heart attack and medical complications resulting from his imprisonment and torture by the fascist Indian government. Read on about his legacy. 🧵
Many are characterizing Saibaba’s passing as a summary execution by the Indian state. Saibaba was almost completely disabled from a childhood bout of polio. While detained, the state denied him medication and confiscated his wheelchair.
Saibaba suffered from further medical neglect when he contracted COVID-19 twice and swine flu on another occasion. He was targeted and humiliated by the state in order to make an example out of his advocacy for oppressed groups in India.
At least 31 alleged Maoist guerrillas have been killed by Indian police and paramilitary forces. The clashes are just the latest in the state’s coordinated efforts to crush the movement aiming to bring about socialist revolution. 🧵
The Civil Liberties Committee of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh has called for an investigation into the killings. Some are alleging it was a “fake encounter” in which civilians, not Maoist guerrillas, were killed.
The attacks occurred in the Abujhmad forest in the eastern state of Chhattisgarh, a stronghold of the Maoist movement and an area which contains rich deposits of natural resources like iron and bauxite.
From October 7 onwards, Israel’s campaign of information warfare can be characterized as a constant stream of fake news and false narratives. Here we debunk some of the most egregious examples of their disinformation. 🧵
Israel asserts its right to "self defense". However, under international law you do not have a right to defend yourself from a nation you are occupying, in fact, those being occupied are the ones with the right to self-defense under law.
Israel claims that they don’t violate international law. Aside from their numerous atrocities since October 7, their ongoing and expanding settlements in the West Bank are illegal under international law, according to Article 49 of the Geneva convention.
Today marks “German Unity Day,” the reunification of Germany in 1990. While the elite celebrated the creation of a single German state, it was a neoliberal disaster for the citizens of the former German Democratic Republic (GDR). 🧵
The GDR, located in the eastern part of the country, identified itself as a “workers and peasants state” until 1990, when it was dismantled and transformed into a neoliberal experiment, primarily influenced by economist Hans Willgerodt.
Willgerodt advocated for deregulation and favored letting the integration of the GDR into the capitalist West German state unfold through “the market.”
