He was struck by two bullets. One in the upper back and one in the head.

The as*assiantion had a profound impact on the US and the world, leaving a mark on American history.

2. A former U.S. Marine, Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested shortly after the as*assination.

He was working in the Texas School Book Depository building from which the shots were fired. He was charged with the murder of JFK and a Dallas police officer J.D. Tippit.

3. Sparking theories and speculation

Over the years there has been a lot of theories and speculation of what actually happened.

Many people believe that Oswald was not the only shooter and some suggest this was orchestrated by the government.

The theories point to possible involvement by the FBI, CIA, Cuban exiles and other groups.
