A new @theIPCinfo publication just dropped. Read this thread if you heard famine is imminent in northern Gaza:
π§΅π§΅π§΅
Firstly: to date, all projections by the IPC have proven incorrect and inconsistent with the situation on the ground, with the IPC reports consistently predicting deterioration and then reporting improvement. Unfortunately, this is because the researchers continue to rely on partial, biased data and superficial sources with vested interests.
1/15γ
The IPC reports have been systematically based on organizations with vested interests and partial, inaccurate knowledge, significantly undermining the document's credibility.
Israel published detailed documents on the factual and methodological problems in the two previous reports. No response was ever given.
2/15γγγ
Also according to the IPC reports until October there was a consistent improvement trend in the food security situation in Gaza. According to the latest report, as of the beginning of Oct, the situation (including in the north) was the best since the beginning of the war.
3/15γ
The @IDF, via COGAT, conducts frequent situational assessments regarding the humanitarian situation in Gaza, including northern Gaza, from a wide range of sources, including various humanitarian organizations working in northern Gaza. Accordingly, we expand and adjust the humanitarian response.
4/15γγγ
Aid enters northern Gaza directly through the Erez East and Erez West crossings, which were opened in May to provide dedicated support for northern Gaza. This enables direct aid delivery from Jordan based on coordination with the Jordanian Armed Forces and the Port of Ashdod, in addition to aid inspected for security at the Kerem Shalom crossing.
5/15γγγ
@IDF The Erez crossings' capacity alone exceeds 600 trucks per week, more trucks can be coordinated into Gaza, there are no limits on the amount of aid that can enter.
6/15γγγ
@IDF Since the start of October, over 600 trucks have entered northern Gaza alone. All while the @IDF is conducting an intense military activity in northern Gaza against terrorist organizations operating there and embedded within the civilian population.
7/15γγγ
To mitigate the impact of the combat on the limited civilian population that remains, a proactive call was made at the outset of the military activity for residents to evacuate southward, humanitarian teams' movements have been coordinated, hundreds of patients and caregivers have been evacuated from hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip, and hundreds of food, water, and medical supply packages have been delivered.
8/15γγγ
Over 50,000 liters of fuel and medical supplies have also been provided to medical facilities in northern Gaza to maintain essential services. Last week (Thursday), alongside ongoing intense activity in the Jabaliya and Beit Hanoun areas, Israel facilitated and eased the movement of a humanitarian convoy for the civilian population remaining in the combat zones.
9/15γγγ
@IDF Currently, 700 truckloads of aid is waiting for the @UN for pickup and distribution on the Gazan side of the Kerem Shalom crossing.
10/15γγγ
Concurrent with the humanitarian response for the north, an extensive and evolving humanitarian effort is underway for central and southern Gaza, spanning several key areas: increasing humanitarian aid, expanding movement routes, supporting @UN logistical efforts, adjustments and expansions at existing crossings, and even the opening of a fifth crossing in the Kissufim area.
11/15γγγ
@IDF @UN Daily meetings are held with the @UN aid agencies to increase the scope of aid and find solutions to expand accessible humanitarian support for the population, addressing the dynamic challenges posed by the operations.
12/15γγγ
We've taken measures to assist the UN with enhancing logistical capabilities. For example, road repairs and expansions have been carried out to improve access to Kerem Shalom, along with extending hours for aid collection and distribution in cooperation with the UN through designated humanitarian pauses.
13/15γγγ
@IDF @UN Dozens of empty trucks, forklifts, and other logistical equipment have been provided for use by international organizations. Efforts have also been made to open the Kissufim crossing to expand aid routes.
14/15γγγ
@IDF @UN The @IDF, via COGAT, operates and will continue to operate in accordance with international law to facilitate and ease the transfer of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

IPC food security snapshot publication: what you need to knowπ§΅π§΅π§΅
Bottom line: Although the IPC's reports on Gaza were characterized by bias and methodological failures (as explained in detail in the response documents published on the @IsraelMFA website), the new report, like its predecessor from June, clearly points to an improving trend in the food security situation in Gaza. gov.il/en/pages/the-tβ¦
This is, in fact, the first time since the start of the war that the IPC reports on a decline in percentage of Gaza Strip residents classified at phase 3 (βCrisisβ) or above.
Moreover, a significant decline in the population classified at phase 5 (βCatastropheβ) was also reported in relation to the three preceding reports.
This will not stop those parading around screaming "there is a famine in Gaza" to continue spreading their lies.
This improvement represents, among other factors, the various measures Israel took to facilitate more than adequate humanitarian aid. This is despite the logistics constraints the UN aid agencies operate under, and the funneling of aid by Hamas.
2γ
And in northern Gaza as well - we see an improvement in the number of people in levels 4 and 5.
3γ
So many lies and falshoods, where should we begin? Let's break it down:
π§΅π§΅ π§΅
Claim: "Israel blocks up to 83% of food aid to Gaza."
Fact: This is false. Over 1 MILLION tons of aid on over 51,000 trucks entered Gaza since the start of the war. Over 37,000 tons entered in September alone. Only 467 trucks (less than 1%) were denied after security inspection due to serious security reasons regarding dual-use items that Hamas could exploit.
1γ
Claim: "65% of required insulin and 50% of blood supplies unavailable."
Fact: We facilitate a steady supply of medical aid, including insulin and blood units, into Gaza. Challenges arise from Hamas's diversion of medical resources, not supply issues. Israel continues to facilitate entry of as much humanitarian aid as possible according to the request of the international organization and partners.
2γ
Claim: "Only 15% of hygiene products are available."
Fact: We facilitate the entry of aid deliveries, including hygiene supplies, on an ongoing basis. Israel does not decide which supply to introduce - the international organizations do. Over the last 2 months, close to 3,000 tons of hygiene products entered Gaza.

POLIO UPDATE π
The Polio vaccination campaign for children in Gaza will be starting tomorrow, Sunday.
As part of the vaccination campaign, international orgs in Gaza will work to vaccinate hundreds of thousands of children against polio at three locations as follows:
The Polio vaccination campaign will take place in coordination with COGAT and the @IDF, and will work to ensure that the population can safely reach medical centers where the vaccinations will be administered.
In preparation for the campaign, COGAT and the international organizations conducted joint assessments, including the import of vaccines, medical and logistical equipment, refrigeration units for vaccine storage and transportation, the entry of polio-specialized medical teams into Gaza, marking vaccination areas in the operational systems, and more.
Since the beginning of the war, 282,126 vials of polio vaccine, sufficient for 2,821,260 people, have entered the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom Crossing in coordination with COGAT.
Additionally, in the past month, vaccines for 1,081,250 people have been brought in for the campaign.
π 95%+ Gazans are immunized against polio
π Israel is working with @WHO & @UNICEF to get 1.3m more vaccines into Gaza
π UNICEF campaign will cover 600,000 children under 10 for new mutation
γγγ
Last month, poliovirus type 2 was detected in 6 out of 7 sewage samples that were collected from Khan Yunis and Deir al-Balah and were passed to the Israeli Ministry of Health.
2/6γ
π’The virus is a mutation found in samples that were collected in Egypt.
π’At least 95% of the Gaza population are immunized against polio.
π’We are coordinating with @WHO and @UNICEFthe entry of polio vaccinations into Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing.

Five myths and truths about aid going into Gazaπ§΅
π πππ΅ 1
Israel does not allow significant distribution of goods through Kerem Shalom crossing.
π§πΏπππ΅ π
π§πΏπππ΅
Israel encourages as much aid as possible to go into Gaza. To assist the @UN agencies with the collection and distribution, additional humanitarian routes and daily humanitarian pauses have been established to facilitate aid distribution.
γ
π πππ΅ 2
COGAT prioritizes the type of aid entering Gaza.
π§πΏπππ΅
Aid prioritization is coordinated directly between the UN and Egypt. COGAT can recommend aid needed based on humanitarian assessments.
π§΅π§΅π§΅ 1/8 Israel has continuously enhanced its humanitarian efforts to increase aid into Gaza, spearheading initiatives that significantly improve conditions in both northern and southern Gaza. while addressing security concerns related to Hamas.
γγγ
2/8 In recent weeks, close to 100 food aid trucks traveled to northern Gaza daily, in coordination with the int'l community, including @UN agencies operating in Gaza.
γγγ
3/8 In talks between Israeli and UN representatives, including @WFP, none of the entities indicated a risk of famine in northern Gaza.
They noted that the humanitarian situation is improving and that there is a variety of goods in both warehouses and markets in the north. γ
