My this piece in Dainik Jagran came good 4 years before I started my journey of unlock.fit but you would see a mention of wellbeing (our vision at unlock.fit) of entrepreneurs as an important part of their success.
The lesson applies to corporate executives and working professionals alike. ENTREPRENEURIAL RISK If you’re looking for a thrill, go skydiving—it’ll bring you safely back to solid ground. Entrepreneurship? That might cost you more than you think. I’m not here to scare you, but
I owe it to you to tell the truth. And if, after knowing this, you still want to pursue entrepreneurship, be ready for serious preparation—and yes, a touch of luck won’t hurt. Risks come in many forms. Maybe the market isn’t ready for your product, no matter how great it is,
and no one buys it. Or maybe, before you even start selling, your capital runs out, leaving you with nothing to launch your product. There's also a chance that someone might file a lawsuit or complaint against you, even when your intentions are clean. And then there’s the fear
of losing a key employee or partner—someone you can’t move forward without. Yet, despite these risks, many have found immense success in entrepreneurship. In the early days, it feels like burning a candle at both ends—your time and money slipping away fast. You need to reach your
goal before that candle burns out completely. While there’s no guaranteed path to success, a few things can make the journey smoother. Assess whether the risk your startup poses is one you can handle. Move forward only if you’re confident you can bear it.
Next, find a co-founder. Sharing responsibilities, along with the highs and lows, can make a big difference. Also, seek out a mentor as early as possible—someone who can guide you through this journey. You’ll need to push yourself harder than ever without losing focus,
which is only possible if you’re passionate about your startup. To be a successful entrepreneur, staying physically and mentally fit is essential. Carve out time for exercise amidst your busy schedule. It’s one of the best ways to combat stress.
The truth is, no matter how well-prepared you are, you will face risks. Entrepreneurship and risk go hand-in-hand. Knowing this won’t eliminate the risks but will definitely help you be better prepared.
