PimpUigi, a well-known speedrunner and creator of the popular fan-mod “Sonic CD Restored”, is currently being federally investigated for serial sex-crime allegations. I have been personally reached out to by multiple of his accusers (1/25🧵)

PimpUigi (real name Michael) is referenced in Chapter 8 of my Sonic CD video, and acknowledged as a research source in Chapter 33. He and I have only ever had amicable interactions, but that has zero bearing on these disturbing and specific allegations.

In mid-September, I received the following comment on my Sonic CD video. It was deleted within a few hours. I was both shocked and deeply skeptical, almost prepared to write it off as an unusually twisted prank. The next month, I finally established contact with the sender.

The accuser in this case is so deathly afraid of the harassment that could result from going public that she’s abandoned all of her old sites and handles. This reaction is justified, as the handful of responses she’s faced have been largely callous or dismissive of the facts.

She is not in a position to speak publicly or unload *all* of her revealing direct evidence, as this could irreparably harm her real-world ongoing legal action. But I have seen much of it personally and have every reason to take it extremely seriously.

The following that I’ve been permitted to share is a small excerpt from a massive report submitted to the Philadelphia police and forwarded to the FBI. Alleged abuse and coercion on a level that’s hard to conceive, and backed up with a paper-trail. *severe content warning*

His behaviour has been described by accusers as predatory grooming. PimpUigi is alleged to have met his mentioned “wife” when she was 15 (while he was 21), and she is ALSO currently pursuing legal action against him for sexual abuse. She too was eventually able to speak with me.

Both victims describe a similar pattern: Uigi discovers them while they were underage, inundates them with NSFW digital content, eventually begins physical relationships with them as they grow up, which slowly veers into the territory of extreme, coercive fetishism.

Pictured above is alleged to be ancient AOL conversations (Summer 2005) between PimpUigi and the girl that would go on to be his longtime partner, at this point around 15. He asks if her family is awake, links her some random hentai art, then moves on to the stink-fetish talk.

Sometime later, a friend of Uigi’s on AOL criticises him for trying to pursue a relationship with a minor, who he is now referring to as his “fiance”. Though he often referred to her publicly as his wife, she has emphatically told me that they were never legally married.

PimpUigi’s full name is one of the first results from a basic web search of his handle. He can also be confirmed to have used the name “MK1 Master” on AOL through simple Google searches and cross-referencing of publicly available information via free data broker sites.

PimpUigi’s described kinks (ERP, sadism, foul odor fetishes, furry porn, etc) are alleged to have been foisted onto his partners through extreme pressure and coercion. The above confrontations were from two *separate* accusers at separate times.

In the attached exchange, a close friend of Uigi’s lambastes him for “pushing him” to participate in something unpleasant. A victim describes the context of this message as taking place after a traumatic group encounter orchestrated by Uigi.

A 32GB flash-drive of sensitive/incriminating material was submitted to the Federal Bureau of Investigations earlier this year, and I was made privy to some of its contents. That is the reason this thread exists; to make the wider community aware of what exactly is being alleged.

Several years after leaving and cutting ties to PimpUigi, both accusers claim to have continued to receive unsolicited letters/gifts to their homes. He’s also been alleged to make surprise IRL excursions without warning.

In Jan 2024, the above-mentioned accusers firmly told PimpUigi to cease all contact online and in real-life, to which he agreed. This was following an alleged 14 years (in the most severe case) of unwanted contact.

Both accusers have made it abundantly clear to me that there is zero financial incentive behind their claims. These are criminal charges, not civil. Their primary motive is to remove Uigi from online spaces with minors.

I have spoken to Uigi about these allegations. He firmly denied everything, including dating a minor. He did however confirm that he has only ever slept with two women in his life, both of whom are accusing him of abuse. He would not confirm or deny the veracity of the AOL chats.

PimpUigi “retired” from the speedrun/Sonic community in 2024, possibly in response to these allegations. But he’s been known to use other names. Some alt accounts/handles include: Blackmephitis7, Lumin786, Uigi786, and most recently, SonicCDSpeedRunArchives.

It is vitally important that I specify: *I* am not the one making these allegations against Michael. I am simply bringing his existing allegations to light, allegations that are being investigated on the federal level and are backed by an exceptional body of evidence.

The Sonic CD speedrunning community is largely made up of what I truly believe to be good and decent people. Many of them are also very young, and I don’t think the vast majority of them truly understand the severity of what’s being alleged against Uigi.

Some of them have blown off these accusations in a knee-jerk fashion, and I won’t hold those past actions against them. At this point though, there can be no excuses. This situation is bigger than drama and needs to be acknowledged and examined properly.

Everything in this thread was at the discretion of the victims and in accordance with their wishes. If youve ever dealt with law enforcement in a case like this, you know how gruelling the wait for progress can be. We can only be supportive and respectful as the case chugs along.

I’ve seen the police reports, I’ve read the victim statement forms, I’ve seen the correspondence with the feds, and I’ve confronted him privately. I’ve personally examined enough detailed evidence that I very much consider these allegations to be credible. We must be vigilant.

PimpUigi has not yet been formally charged with a crime, but out of an abundance of caution, I advise staying away from this person, removing him from your communities and particularly minors. Too many signs point to serious misconduct. Thank you and please share (25/25🧵)
