There's just been a by-election win in Kent; #ReformUK will now be running that #CombinedAuthority alongside the #FreeportEntities involved, from Ports to Local Councillors , utillities, Job Skills, DWP ; becuase thats the way its been set up. BOTH Tories & UKLabour set it up.

I'd question how much 'Consultation' has actually gone on; as further down the article its clear that Councils are NOT 'OK' with this; 'White Paper on DEVOLUTION'

and if this is announced BEFORE the White Paper, its 'fait a Complis' anyway.

So; It's 'Not acceptable' to NOT have a Mayoral Authority; from the man that is pushing this; 'Part of our system of going forward'

Here's the objections from the Councils; ( Seriously; when they sit in Counil meetings do they not 'get' what theyre signing up to with Sez's, Devolution & Freeports?) I 'get it' cos I went through the Council meetings in Solent Freeport.

that 'Distric Councils Network' again, and an objection from someone that appears to be linked to that same Network;

That's just 'denial' from MHLUCLG; its obvious the White Paper is written and was done in 2020, to me.

If I were a resident in ANY of those Council areas; I'd be doing several things right now; 1) going through the Organisations mentioned to find the people involved & where & IF they 'fit' into SEZ's ,Freeports, Govt & LEPS. Ditto with your Councillors of ALL Parties

Id also be going through @JimFunnel threads to look for & compare 'patterns' on Freeports and Governance as well as what was the LEP Network; and out into other Govt Policy, such as Housing, Social Care, Utiliites and NetZero/ Energy & Retained Rates/ Freeports

Id also be going through the 'budget' for justifying this and who helped 'set' that Budget, and most of all; 'The Consensus' & 'Consultation' elements, becuase we know from experience that leaks like a sieve in FreeportHell.

@AnnAubert3 will tell you how ( as I have, many times) much 'actual' 'Consultation' was done before #IsleofWight was roped into FreeportSolent.
