@DonaldJTrumpJr The tweet you quoted is false.
@DonaldJTrumpJr To start with, $7.5B has not been spent, nor anything like that. That’s the entire program budget for the NEVI program, which is to help build out a national charging network by 2030.
@DonaldJTrumpJr Secondly, there are chargers now operational in nine states (which does not mean 9 chargers, to be clear). These are only the first handful though. Most are to be built in the 2nd half of the decade.
@DonaldJTrumpJr Third, in this program the chargers are built by the states, not the federal government. And while it takes time to get a novel multi-billion dollar program going across 50 states, the states are on track. fhwa.dot.gov/environment/ne…
@DonaldJTrumpJr For anyone interested in this program and where the chargers are going, here’s further data and a map. pluginamerica.org/nevi-funding-t…

From a drought halting barge traffic on the Mississippi River to subways flooding in NYC—extreme weather, worsened by climate change, is damaging our infrastructure.

🧵 Here's a look at some of the projects that will help address climate change: apnews.com/article/biden-…
With funding from President Biden's infrastructure law, we're helping restore hundreds of acres of the floodplain in West Memphis, AR, to protect five major transportation routes from flooding. katv.com/news/local/bid…ALT: Flooded Waterfront along the Mississippi River in United States, Arkansas, Marion
Every day 13,000 people use Kamehameha Highway, linking the Ko’olauloa district and Honolulu metro area. It needs protection from waves, erosion, and the increasing impacts of climate change. We're working with Hawaiʻi DOT to fund a much-needed barrier. ALT: The sun-drenched Kamehameha Highway in Oahu provides an amazing scenic drive. Windward coastline and many beaches can be seen along the drive.

With the grants we’re announcing today—nearly $1 billion in total—we're helping modernize 125 airports across the country in order to make their operations safer, more accessible, and more convenient for travelers.

🧵 Here's a look at some of the improvements we're making:
At Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport, we're funding a terminal reconstruction and expansion project that will add more gates and improve baggage claim to help the airport support its growth.
We're funding grants for large and small airports. For Pine River Regional Airport in Cass County, Minnesota, we're replacing a 450-square-foot general aviation terminal building with a new and improved terminal building.

In the two weeks since the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed in Baltimore, President Biden has led administration-wide work to provide support. We're working together to reopen the port, rebuild the bridge, and support the people of Baltimore. 🧵
1️⃣ Immediately standing up a Unified Command: The Coast Guard immediately deployed to support local emergency personnel. Federal agencies are working closely with Maryland to clear the wreckage in the channel and allow the Port of Baltimore to reopen as soon as humanly possible.
2️⃣ Quickly releasing emergency funds: Within hours of receiving the request, our department made $60 million available to Maryland. These funds serve as a down payment toward initial costs, and more will be available.

Since Day 1 of the Biden-Harris Administration, we have been working to improve rail safety and keep workers and communities safe.

🧵 Here's a look at some of the work we've done on rail safety:
Through President Biden's bipartisan infrastructure package, we've awarded billions of dollars to modernize rail infrastructure and improve dangerous highway-rail crossings across the country.
Our Federal Railroad Administration has completed 7,500 focused inspections along high-hazard flammable train routes, in addition to the inspections we perform nationwide every year.

Great discussion at the White House with @VP marking 33 years of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and hearing from advocates on how best to ensure everyone can move freely, fairly, and safely through our transportation systems.
We're modernizing airports across the country, adding wheelchair ramps, accessible restrooms, and more.

This year alone, we funded dozens of projects that will improve accessibility — from the check-in counter to baggage claim and everything in between. transportation.gov/briefing-room/…
Three decades after the ADA, a quarter of America's public transit stations still aren't accessible.

But through @POTUS' infrastructure law, we're changing that — retrofitting old stations so Americans can get where they need to go safely and affordably. transportation.gov/briefing-room/…

Transportation should connect, not divide, people from jobs, schools, and their greater community. We're announcing the next round of funding for our Reconnecting Communities program.

Here are some of the projects we announced in last year's round🔗

When I-30 paved through MacArthur Park & Hanger Hill communities in Little Rock, AR, it fractured the once-flourishing neighborhoods.

We're helping make these communities whole again with a $2M grant to study potential designs to cap the interstate.

We've awarded $1.6M to Norfolk, VA, to help the city address its infamous "spaghetti bowl," a 14-lane-wide stretch of I-264 that cuts off a majority-Black neighborhood from opportunities and amenities in downtown Norfolk.
