So, I posted a thing on here and got a not wholly unexpected flood of replies by climate change sceptics. I used to be unsure of exactly how serious the situation is and what’s causing it, until I read this book.
It’s a brilliantly written account of one of the biggest forest fires in modern times that reads like a thriller
It also looks at the science behind climate change and explains what’s going on in a very clear way. Before I read it I had no idea that scientists first started looking into the greenhouse effect in the 1850s
There is an overwhelming consensus among scientists that man made climate change is very real. I don’t see how anyone can deny that weather patterns have drastically altered, certainly during my lifetime
I know people in southern Europe who are very scared about what’s happening. Rainfall patterns disrupted. Plants and trees stressed and dying. Desertification in some areas. Massive and more frequent fires…
Many people have posted on here that things change, the climate naturally changes, which is all true. But there is more than enough proof that burning countless billions of tons of fossil fuels has had a drastic effect.
