1/ Introducing ELIP-001: Rewards v2

Eigen Labs is excited to share its first EigenLayer Improvement Proposal (ELIP-001): Rewards v2.

forum.eigenlayer.xyz/t/elip-001-rew…
2/ What

The Rewards v2 ELIP addresses gaps in the current implementation of EigenLayer rewards by giving AVSs more tools for more flexible, operator-directed rewards with on-chain attribution, in addition to a few quality of life improvements.

1/ What would you build if users made a wish and saw their transaction on-chain?

EigenLayer Research dives into intents in this multi-part series.

Intention is All You Need (Part 1) explores intent-based apps like @CoWSwap & @AcrossProtocol + new upgrades only possible with AVSs.
2/

But first, what are intents?

Intents are desired outcomes.

Transactions (how) = specific execution path, readable to Ethereum validators

Intent (what) = desired state transition, require 3rd parties for on-chain settlement
3/ More formally, an intent is a set of declarative constraints and preferences which allow a user to outsource transaction creation to a third party without relinquishing full control to the transacting party.

1/ Crypto & AI convergence is reshaping our digital future, with verifiability at its core.

Explore how blockchain's transparency meets AI's validation needs, creating new possibilities in DeFi, identity, and collaborative AI.

Many big terms to unpack here. Let's start! 🧵👇
2/ First, let's define verifiability in both contexts:

- In crypto: The ability to independently confirm transactions and state changes.
- In AI: The capacity to validate AI outputs and processes' accuracy, origin, and integrity.
3/ 🔐 In the crypto world, verifiability is achieved through:

- Public ledgers (everyone can see transactions)
- Cryptographic proofs (mathematical validation)
- Consensus mechanisms (agreement on the state of the network)

These ensure transparency and trust in a decentralized system.

EigenLayer x LayerZero: A CryptoEconomic DVN Framework

Protocols will be able to stake any token to bootstrap their own DVN.
1/ @Eigen_Labs & @LayerZero_Core introduce a groundbreaking framework for CryptoEconomic Decentralized Verifier Networks (DVNs), leveraging EigenLayer’s restaking & slashing mechanics with LayerZero’s secure messaging.

blog.eigenlayer.xyz/dvn/
2/ The first DVN using this framework, by @LayerZero_Core, accepts EIGEN, ZRO, & ETH as staking assets—ensuring omnichain message verification with cryptoeconomic security.

EigenLayer Research: Intelligent DeFi

DeFi + limitless trustless compute & data = Intelligent DeFi

EigenLayer's first piece on AVS Consumers: exploring the intersection of AVSs and finance onchain ↓
Glue & coprocessor architectures: enabling a general-purpose glue (the EVM) to write business logic & call coprocessors for specialized computation

EigenLayer AVSs are coprocessors: handling tasks too expensive or impractical for the Ethereum finite state machine
We previously explored Uni v4 hooks to discover: where can AVSs improve DeFi?

But that was only the beginning, let's explore more!blog.eigenlayer.xyz/univ4-hooks/

What onchain markets would you build if trustless compute and data were no longer bottlenecks?

Unveiling our first Request for AVS: @Uniswap v4 hooks x EigenLayer AVS Image
We're very bullish on Uniswap v4 and the ability to recreate any financial exchange onchain

EigenLayer adds in the missing components with trustless offchain compute and data

Specifically, EigenLayer AVSs allow you to build:
- a matching engine
- an auction
- prover network
- oracle for any type of data
and integrate it into your onchain hook!

Announcing: AVS mainnet launch

Six new AVSs are coming live today alongside EigenDA!
2/12

We’re excited to help launch @alt_layer MACH for restaked rollups, @brevis_zk coprocessor, @eoracle_network Ethereum native oracle, @lagrangedev State Committee, @witnesschain DePIN coordination layer, and @XterioGames MACH restaked rollup.

Check them out 👇
3/12

Restaked rollup AVS with @alt_layer’s MACH enables rollups built with Altlayer's stack to gain fast finality by achieving blazing-fast block confirmation speeds (under 10 seconds) with EigenLayer stake, significantly improving the rollup's UX.
