There's been a bunch of misinformation about today's murder of United Healthcare's CEO. I'm going to debunk some of the firearms nonsense that's been stated.
Myth 1: The pistol was a Welrod / B&T Station 6!
Categorically false.
Here is a full length video of the shooting. You can see the shooter having to manually clear casings that failed to eject and you can see smoke coming from the breech of the pistol when it is fired. This goes against the claim that this is a Welrod type pistol.
The Welrod pistol uses a bolt action mechanism that requires a twist and pull action to open and close the breech. In this photo you can see how the rear of the pistol must be twisted and pulled out to chamber a new round
Contrast that to this video that I've slowed and zoomed. You can clearly see the slide attempting (and failing) to cycle after the shot, along with a puff of smoke from the cartridge being fired. The Welrod style's breech remains closed until manually opened.
Myth 2: The shooter was using subsonic ammunition bc he was a professional!
Also false. The shooter was firing 9mm. Photos of the live rounds found at the scene shows ordinary low weight FMJ ammunition, not heavier self defense loads like 147gr HST or similar.
Myth 3: he purposely used subsonic rounds to keep the gun from cycling (or other idiocy).
False. The failure to eject malfunction was likely caused because he used a silencer without a Nielsen Device. Purpose built handgun silencers have piston / booster assemblies for this.
The additional mass of a silencer on a Browning style barrel prevents the firearm from cycling properly. The booster gives a bit more oomf to the recoil. The presence of live ammunition at the crime scene is an indicator that the firearm was malfunctioning instead of working as intended.
By all means please explain why he'd choose subsonic bullets then not use a silencer with a booster, causing multiple malfunctions that required failure to eject clearing & left live rounds on the scene.
If the firearm is recovered or they are able to track down the purchases, I'm guessing we're going to see that this is probably a home made silencer, either 3d printed, machined from a solvent trap, or similar.
Certain 9mm silencers are made so that they can be used on pistol caliber carbines or "braced" pistols like AR-9s; to do so the Nielsen device would have to be removed (if present).
Likewise it is also possible that the silencer was stolen then put onto the host weapon. This seems highly unlikely, but it is possible.
My highest probability guess? Dude didn't know what he was doing past "buy silencer, problem solved" and though direct attaching would be enough.
People in the replies:
YOU DON'T KNOW HE WASN'T USING SUBSONIC
True, I don't know. Everyone who claimed he was also doesn't know that, so without evidence those claims can be dismissed.
What we do know is that he used regular FMJ ammo per the pictures. If you are deliberately using subs, why not buy ammo that's better than FMJ to ensure it does the job? Why not use ammo that expands?
Makes no sense.
Ok my notifications are melting down. I don't have a soundcloud so if you are upset about this you can be very angry and I will not mind one bit.

Found the criminal complaint documents they issued for Elias Rodriguez, the garbage person who murdered two Israeli Embassy staffers yesterday and there's some information pertinent to gun control
🧵
The document is found here and is 7 pages long. Filed in US District Court since the case is being handled Federally: justice.gov/usao-dc/media/…
Rodriguez had an Illinois Firearms Owner ID Card, whic is required in IL to possess a firearm and / or ammunition. IL requires background checks on all firearms transfers.
I want to touch on this for a min. Ian says a lot of very stupid things and this post is filled with them but the 'hurrr use sPeCiaL fORces' is particularly dumb.
Israel did just that to rescue 4 hostages being held in a civilian area: Noa Argamani, Almog Meir Jan, Shlomi Ziv, and Andrey Kozlov.
The firefights that ensued during the operation resulted in, per Gazan numbers, over 270 Gazan deaths, with an unknown number of those being combatants. The hostages were held by a local 'journalist' and his father, a doctor, in a civilian home, in the middle of a busy neighborhood.
The resultant outcry was loud: Israel shouldn't have fought in a neighborhood, Israel killed too many people shooting at them, blah blah blah
So lets compare it to something from the US perspetive:
Operation Gothic Serpent, aka Day of the Ranger, AKA Black Hawk Down.

You have 12 days to prep for this. Here in Kentucky we had an ice storm 15 years ago that left us without power, less than 3 miles from downtown Louisville, for a week.
Here's some of my suggestions for you, in no particular order:
While this can run off a 1lb Coleman fuel can, where it shines is if you buy the hose (WITH REGULATOR) that will allow you to attach it to your 20lb (or 100lb) propane tank that you use for your BBQ or whatever. Be sure to check Costco or Tractor Supply for local purchase.amzn.to/4fDBUoF
There is also a Buddy Flex cooker option if you want to use it for food.
I personally haven't tried it, but it's an option. amzn.to/4fCbhAw
I am once again reminding you that this product exists: The Aqua Research H2gO Purifier.
3.8 oz. Fits in your pocket. Solar panel for power if the battery is depleted. Treats 1 to 20L (5 gal) of water by converting common table salt to sodium hypochlorite.
Jefferson County Public Schools @JCPSKY are facing a civil rights lawsuit that, if it goes through, will delay school from starting until NOVEMBER.
You see, JCPS doesn't have enough bus drivers to cover the routes.
@JCPSKY This lawsuit has been building since April of this year, when the JCPS board decided to vote on a plan to eliminate bussing from all magnet & traditional schools, due to a disastrous 23-24 school year due to driver shortages.
@JCPSKY Parents were understandably pissed that bussing was eliminated & "disproportionately affects Black students", so they sued JCPS about it
