SitRep - 13/12/24 - Another huge Russian missile/drone attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Russia once again scrambled a big amount of missiles, and attacked energy infrastructure.

As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours.
The 126th Territorial Defense Brigade destroyed several pieces of heavy Russian equipment.
Early this morning, Russia attacked Ukraine with a massive amount of missiles and drones of which most were shot down. More on the attack later in this thread.
One of the cruise missiles was taken down by an IGLA manpads.
Air Command West showed more results, destroying a Shahed and another cruise missile.
The 47th Mechanized Brigade destroyed a position occupied by Russians.
Lets continue with the general events. The US announced new aid worth $500 million.
After Russia's morning strike, critical infrastructure was heavily damaged.
It forced to Ukraine to turn off electricity for almost half of all Ukrainians for a certain period.
Italy said it is ready to help with a possible peacekeeping mission.
The Ukrainian front is screaming for personnel, so training will be accelerated.
Peskov remained reserved about Trump's statements.
Russia said that today's attack on Ukraine was done in retaliation for the ATACMS attack on Taganrog.
France said it will continue to supply SCALP-EG long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine.
The new Lithuanian government plans to visit Ukraine.
In Syria, Russia is withdrawing its air defense systems
Footage of Ukrainian Su-27 bombers, striking Russian positions with glide bombs.
Norway will train Ukrainian soldiers in Portugal from now on.
Trump talked to Biden's team.
Zelensky will soon meet with EU leaders.

Pokrovsk direction

Only a few kilometers until Russia has reached Pokrovsk. New geolocated footage confirms Russian presence inside Shevchenko, south of Pokrovsk. In a matter of days, the battle for Pokrovsk will start. Image
Kurakhove direction

It seems that the situation south of Kurakhove in the pocket near Uspenivka has been concluded. Russian forces took over Uspenivka, Hannivka and Veselyi Hai. It is assumed that Ukrainian forces retreated to prevent encirclement. Image
