We all know the famous Looney Tunes cat, Sylvester, and most fans are familiar with other cats like Claude and Penelope.
But what about Sam?
Sam the Cat only appeared in four cartoons, and oddly enough, there was a seven-year gap between the first two, and the second two.
Sam was introduced in "Trick or Tweet" (Friz Freleng, 1959) as a rival to Sylvester in his pursuit of Tweety. And then in "Mouse and Garden", 1960. Sam appeared again in 1967, in two cartoons: "The Spy Swatter" and "Merlin the Magic Mouse" Mel Blanc did his voice in "Spy Swatter", while Butler reprised the role in "Magic Mouse".
