SitRep - 18/12/24 - Ukraine attacked Rostov region with ATACMS or Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG?

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Today, the Rostov region was attacked, targeting -among other things- the Kamensky plant.

As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours.
In Russia, natural disasters are once again a hot topic.
Overnight, explosions occured in Rostov-on-Don. It was reported that the Rostselmash plant in Rostov-on-Don, known for repairing and upgrading armored vehicles, was hit.
At night, A Shahed drone attack was repelled. No hits were recorded.
Satellite images confirmed damage to the Atlas oil depot in the Rostov region.
Today Ukraine struck the Rostov region with Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG and apparently also ATACMS.
According to Russian channels, another (Ka-52 allegedly) helicopter was lost.
A Ukrainian Mi-8 took down a Russian Shahed drone.
Later today, Ukrainian officials claimed a large Russian chemical plant was hit.
During the evening, explosions happened in Taganrog again.
Lets continue with the general events. The US Department of State said that aid will continue to flow to Ukraine which allows them to sustain the fight.
In Russia they found a victim who took responsibility for the killing of General Kyrylov in Moscow and immediately linked it to Ukraine.
NATO has taken over military aid coordination to Ukraine from the US.
In an honest interview, Zelensky said that the AFU lacks strength to regain Donbas and Crimea.
Australian visit to Kyiv.
Ukraine received its latest tranche of EU funds under the Ukraine Facility Program.
It is almost completely unlikely that House Speaker Johnson will bring up debate/voting on a new aid package for Ukraine before Trump comes into power.
Trump's soon to be official Ukraine envoy Kellogg said that Russia's losses are fives times higher than Ukrainian ones.
