The radical ACLU is suing the Washington Department of Corrections to move a trans double murderer back to the women’s prison, where he was caught having sex with a female inmate🧵

Following my exclusive report on the sexual incident, trans-identifying male felon Bryan Kim was removed from the Purdy women’s prison to the Monroe men’s prison. The DOC cited “ongoing safety concerns” as its reason.

Kim was found guilty of stabbing his father and strangling his mother to death.

After attempting to clean up the murder scene and hide the bodies in an outbuilding, Kim went shopping the next day, using his father’s debit card to withdraw $1,000 from his parents’ account.

Now, the ACLU is alleging discrimination, asking a Washington court to either return Kim to Purdy or RELEASE HIM ENTIRELY.

The ACLU argues that Kim’s placement in the men’s prison is “cruel punishment.”

In March, a Purdy prison guard discovered Kim “laying on the floor completely nude from the waist down with their cellmate Nerton Sincer-A on top of them also nude from the waist down actively having sex.”

In his complaint, Kim said he was worried about “being victimized in the shower” in the men’s prison.

Many female inmates at Purdy have the same fear about the men preying on them while showering, as the stalls in the prison bathrooms don’t ensure privacy.

“A bunch of women, when they’re in the showers, these people are just standing there,” a female inmate told me.

“They don’t have to stand on their tippy toes and they look over and see everything. People were so uncomfortable. You feel kind of like you’ve been violated.”

A male child molester currently at Purdy has repeatedly leered at the women while they’re showering.

One female inmate, who is herself a victim of child rape, told me that this man peered over at her while she was showering and threatened, “I can get you when I want.”

Kim is the first and only trans-identifying male offender to be removed from a women’s facility since the DOC enacted its radical gender-inclusive housing code.

While Kim insisted that the incident was consensual, the DOC said that consensual sex is difficult to prove in an environment as fraught and prone to exploitation as a prison.

“Due to the nature of the culture inside American prisons, where incarcerated individuals are not able to come forward with information that may lead to others getting into trouble without fear of reprisal, there is no sound practices for determining actual consensual sex”
