In terms of his pitch selection and approach, Barger is an outlier:
44.3% Zone% with a 58.5% Zone Swing% is very interesting to look at.
This means Barger was not getting pitches thrown in the zone, but he wasn’t swinging at strikes. This could cause him to be “over selective”
I don’t think is too big of a concern as there are other elite MiLB players that have this similar profile.
Barger will see and saw more stikes at the MLB level which will allow him to showcase his extremely quick and electric bat.
Barger made a stance adjustment during the Season.
Pros:
-Lower hand placement allows for a quicker trigger.
-His Closed off stance allows him not to pull off pitches and stay in and through the zone longer.
-Controlled mechanics allow a smooth and consistent load.
Fluidity✅
Barger displays some of the best raw bat speed in baseball.
74.3 MPH would put him in the 80th + Percentile.
Looking at his swing mechanics, you can just tell he’s a pure hitter. His bat stays through the zone and he’s short and explosive to the ball.
No wasted movement✅
Let’s also not forget he can absolutely sling it across the diamond!
His 96.3 MPH Arm Strength is in the 99th percentile!
He has an absolute hose🔥
Barger’s 2025 projection has him finishing with 7 HR with a 103 wRC+ and 0.7 fWAR.
He could absolutely put that projection to shame with regular playing time.
His rolling 100 PA xwOBA is encouraging and highlights improvement towards the end of the year!

Randy already has 18 HR, 16 SB, and 3.0 fWAR over 96 games this year. His best year was in 2021, when he had 3.9 fWAR in 141 games; he should shatter that.
His 141 wRC+, 52.0% hard-hit% (91st percentile), and 91.8 MPH AVG EV are all career highs.
2. Ryan O'Hearn
O'Hearn has been fantastic with the Orioles, and after 117 wRC+ years in 2023 and 2024, he currently sits at 137 with a 2.2 fWAR, which is more than 2018-2014 combined.
O'Hearn now has 12 HR, a 12.1% BB%, a .283/.379/.459 slashline, and .365 wOBA over 330 PA.

Nick Kurtz was arguably the best power-hitting prospect in the 2024 draft, consistently making loud contact to all parts of the field, and was projected to be a middle-of-the-order bat for years to come.
He showed an elite combination of raw bat speed and a massive 6'5" frame.
Kurtz immediately got the ball rolling, slashing .368/.520/.763 over his first year across A and AA in 2024.
In 2025, Kurtz dominated his 21 games across A and AAA, posting a .333 AVG, 148 wRC+, and 8 HR to go along with a .356 ISO.

C--Carlos Narvaez deserves more love than he is getting right now.
He currently has 6 HR, is walking over 11% of the time, is posting a 116 wRC+, and has already posted 2.4 fWAR this year (4th among all C). He is also a master behind the plate (top 10% in BLKS, CS, and Framing)
1B--Pavin Smith is continuing his surge of production from 24'
In 72 G, he has 8 HR, has a crazy 16.0% BB%, while posting a fantastic 138 wRC+ and ISO over .200 at .202. He has above-average hard-hit metrics and limits swinging outside the zone with a top 12% chase% at 21.1%.
PCA does have problems in terms of his plate discipline (27.2% whiff%/43.5% chase%), but that will improve as he adjusts to the league. He is still only 23 years old! He excels at barreling the ball 13.3% while also doing it with a bat path that allows him to have good LA's.
