Gruesome details are emerging about the events that unfolded..
Shathaa left her house to buy something from the store, holding a one-year-old and a two-year-old. A Palestinian government gunman, positioned about 20 meters away behind a window in a nearby building, saw them—three women and two children—and opened fire..
The women were clearly visible with lights on, and the gunman struck them all directly. After hitting Shathaa in the head and injuring the others, he continued to shoot as they lay on the ground..
Despite desperate cries for him to stop, he kept firing, executing Shathaa in cold blood. She bled out on the ground, and no one could retrieve her because the gunfire persisted..
