Why The Crusades were INSANELY Based (& justified) - a 💎🧵
Historically, after the Edict of Milan, Christianity spread far to the west and east of the Roman Empire becoming the dominant religion in the areas outlined in this map ⬇️
In the mid 600's arab warlords made their way out of the arabian peninsula and began conquering violently the lands around them - they brought with them their own religion: Islam.
They managed to spread even to southern Italy & France.
In response to centuries of islamic agression and opression of Christians within the HISTORICAL christan lands of North Africa, the Holy Land, Iberia and southern Italy the Christin Kings of Europe, under the support of the Vicar of Christ, decided to launch offensives to TAKE BACK their lands and free their people.
Enough was enough, if the situation in the west was dire, you can only imagine what was happening in the east to our brothers and the pilgrims in the Holy land.
In 1095 Pope Urban II calls the first crusade to take back the Holy Land and drive Islam out of Europe.
"Although, O sons of God, you have promised more firmly than ever to keep the peace among yourselves and to preserve the rights of the church, there remains still an important work for you to do. … For your brethren who live in the east are in urgent need of your help, and you must hasten to give them the aid which has often been promised them. For, as the most of you have heard, the Turks and Arabs have attacked them and have conquered the territory of Romania as far west as the shore of the Mediterranean… They have occupied more and more of the lands of those Christians… They have killed and captured many, and have destroyed the churches and devastated the empire… On this account I, or rather the Lord, beseech you as Christ's heralds to publish this everywhere and to persuade all people of whatever rank, foot-soldiers and knights, poor and rich, to carry aid promptly to those Christians and to destroy that vile race from the lands of our friends… Christ commands it." - Pope Urban II
The Crusades were successful.
The Goals were achieved. Europe remains Christian and for centuries our christian bretheren in North Africa and the Holy Land were free under European Rule.
If anything a new Reconquista and a new age of Crusades is what the world needs again.

If you think this cross is Satanic, you know nothing about Christianity.
The upside-down cross is the sign of one of the greatest saints in history. A symbol of humility. Of martyrdom. Of true apostolic faith.
This is the truth about the Cross of Saint Peter - a 🧵
Saint Peter wasn’t just one of the Twelve, he was the first. Jesus gave him the keys:
“You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church.” - Matthew 16,18
But Peter was not a perfect man, he denied Christ three times.
And it was precisely through this fall that he became a vessel of mercy.
According to ancient tradition, Peter was martyred under Emperor Nero, around 64 A.D.
When sentenced to crucifixion, Peter made a request:
“I am not worthy to die as my Lord died.”
So they crucified him upside down, head to the ground.
Today is Father’s Day.
So lets remember the example all fathers should follow.
Saint Joseph, Terror of demons, Guardian of the Virgin,
Foster father of the Son of God.
A man of silence, strength, and sacrificial love.
Chosen to lead the Holy Family.
This is his story - a 🧵✝️
One fateful day, Joseph was betrothed to a young maiden, Mary, pure of heart and radiant with grace.
But before their union could be sealed, the heavens trembled, and a revelation came: a revelation that would test the core of his soul.
Mary was found with child, a child not conceived by man, but by the Holy Spirit.
Doubt clawed at Joseph’s mind. He was a man of the law, yet love and compassion coursed through his veins.
He resolved to part from Mary in secret, sparing her from disgrace, choosing honor over judgment.
But as he wrestled with his decision in the dead of night, a divine messenger descended in a dream. "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her is conceived by the Holy Spirit. He will be called Jesus, and He will save His people from their sins."
Christians are supposed to be pacifists? Just say you know nothing about Christianity
The saints and doctors of the Church taught that war is sometimes not only permitted, but a duty
Let’s talk about Just and Holy War - a🧵✝️
Let’s begin with a myth: “Christianity means absolute pacifism. War is always evil.”
This is FALSE.
From the early Church Fathers to the great Doctors like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, the Church has always taught that some wars are just, even holy.
War is an evil, but sometimes necessary to restore just peace and avoid greater evils.
The Church does not glorify violence.
But she teaches that peace is the fruit of justice, not cowardice - Is 32,17
If tyrants threaten the innocent. If evil crushes the weak.
Then Christian men may, and sometimes must, take up arms in defense of the good.
