1. On December 7, 1972, during a live broadcast in Manila, Carlito Dimahilig attempted to assassinate First Lady Imelda Marcos with a bolo knife. The attack was thwarted by security.

2. On July 30, 1987, a Sri Lankan naval cadet attacked Indian PM Rajiv Gandhi with a rifle during a guard of honor. Security intervened quickly, and Gandhi escaped unharmed.

3. On May 15, 1972, presidential candidate George Wallace was shot by Arthur Bremer during a campaign rally in Maryland. Wallace survived the attack but was left permanently paralyzed from the waist down, becoming wheelchair-bound for the rest of his life.

4. On June 13, 1981, during a public event in London, a 17-year-old named Marcus Sarjeant attempted to assassinate Prince Charles by firing blanks from a revolver while he was riding in a procession. The prince was unharmed, and Sarjeant was arrested shortly after the incident.

5. On May 15, 2024, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was shot multiple times during an event in Handlová. The assailant, 71-year-old Juraj Cintula, was arrested at the scene. Fico underwent surgery and was later released to home care, later forgiving his attacker.

6. On March 30, 1981, U.S. President Ronald Reagan was shot and seriously wounded by John Hinckley Jr. outside a Washington D.C. hotel. Reagan was hit in the chest but survived after undergoing surgery. Hinckley was arrested, and the incident led to heightened security.

7. On September 1, 2022, Argentina’s Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner survived an assassination attempt when a man pointed a gun at her outside her home, but the weapon malfunctioned. The attacker was arrested immediately.

8. On April 15, 2022, Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida was targeted in an assassination attempt during a campaign event in Wakayama. A man threw an explosive device at him, which detonated, but a bodyguard quickly threw it away, preventing further harm. Kishida was unharmed.

9. On January 19, 2013, Bulgarian politician Ahmed Dogan survived an assassination attempt when a gunman, Oktay Enimehmedov, tried to shoot him at a party congress. The gun malfunctioned, and Dogan was unharmed, while the attacker was arrested.

10. On August 4, 2018, an assassination attempt on Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was made using drones with explosives during a military parade. The drones were intercepted, and Maduro survived unharmed.

11. On July 13, 2024, an assassination attempt on former U.S. President Donald Trump occurred during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. A gunman fired shots, killing one person and injuring two others. Trump was unharmed and later released from the hospital.
