Introducing Apptokens: infinitely programmable token smart contracts for next-generation digital economies
The apptokens release is the culmination of Limit Break’s work designing novel token smart contracts to unlock an array of critical features for web3 game developers.
What are Apptokens?
Apptokens are a new class of digital asset that encompass ERC721-C and ERC20-C tokens and their natively embedded programmable features.
With apptokens, game developers have a complete suite of tools they need to design tokens that are functionally effective at serving all of their needs.
App-linked apptokens - with logic requiring all token interactions take place within a client-side application, game developers can now maximize token-driven user acquisition by converting token demand into game downloads
Task-linked apptokens - with logic requiring token interactions take place after a player completes a specific task/s, game developers can augment their quest completion incentives
Web2 secured apptokens - token interactions are secured by web2 accounts infrastructure such as 2FA, protecting new players from sophisticated bad actors
Trade-ratio apptokens - define the relative value of apptokens in your digital economy by parameterizing the ratios at which trades can be executed between them
Price-range apptokens - define minimum and maximum prices that your apptoken can trade below, above or between
Promotional spend-only apptokens - unlock novel user acquisition funnels without disturbing the balance of your digital economy by distributing free tokens designed to be used on spends in-game
Event apptokens - design novel event-based tokens that enable token trading for a specific period of time in your game

Introducing TokenMaster: launchpad and economic infrastructure for ERC20-C apptokens
TokenMaster is a next-generation fungible token protocol optimized for onchain game economies. Built on the advanced ERC20-C apptokens standard, TokenMaster enables the creation of highly customizable tokens tailored for diverse applications.
TokenMaster is composed of highly programmable pools governing token interactions. Creators can:
- Launch a new apptoken
- Define a paired token that stores bonded value when the apptoken is bought from the pool
- Define spends for monetization
- Enable/disable external AMM trading of the apptoken
- Utilize all of the programmable features of apptokens
TokenMaster V1 supports 3 pool types.
1️⃣ Standard Pools:
Dynamic pool type that enables the configuration of:
- Initial supply and recipients
- Fees and spreads in the AMM
- Game developer share of spends and emissions
2️⃣ Stable Pools:
A simplified version of Standard Pools for tokens with fixed/stable market values, making them ideal for assets such as stablecoins or in-game currencies with a fixed price relationship to in-game assets.
3️⃣ Promotional Pools
Promotional Pools emit spend-only tokens designed to boost player retention and engagement. These tokens are designed to incentivize game activity as opposed to trading.
TokenMaster Router & Factories:
TokenMaster Router is the command center for deploying and managing pools. You can:
- Seamlessly deploy pools and manage buy/sell/spend actions
- Execute advanced configurations
- Propose new pool types to expand TokenMaster capabilities
Buy/Sell/Spend Hooks & Oracles:
Elevate token transactions with advanced game developer-defined logic.
- Hooks: Trigger customizable actions during transactions such as minting rewards.
- Oracles: Dynamically adjust token values or rewards using real-time external data.v
🚨🚨🚨Limit Break is excited to announce that we have raised TWO HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS ($200,000,000) over two rounds to build Web 3 MMO games. These rounds were led by @joshbuckley, @paradigm, & @standardcrypto 🥳
Our investors also include @FTX_Official, @coinbase, and @psumvc. @shervin and @anthoscapital also invested and both served as board members for our founders (Gabe Twitter) & (Halbert Twitter) at their previous company, MZ.
After a decade of pushing "Free to Play" games to their limits, our founders have spent the past year building Limit Break to replace F2P using Web 3. We call this new model “Free to Own”.
