SitRep - 09/01/25 - A lot of new aid pledged during Ramstein

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Today, Ramstein was held and partners pledged more aid to Ukraine. Heavy fighting continues, specifically in the Kursk region.

As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours.
At night, lots of Russian shahed drones were taken down.
Footage of a large Russian mechanized column attack repelled in the Kursk region.
The fire at the oil depot in Engels keeps spreading
In the Kursk region, a poultry farm was hit.
Azov clearing Russian positions and striking at mechanized equipment.
During the day, 3 Iskander-K cruise missiles were shot down.
Damage assesment of the drone strike at 22 december on an oil depot in Oryol.
A BM-21 Grad MLRS taken out.
Lets continue with the general events, a lot today. Today everything was focussed on a new Ramstein meeting. New aid to Ukraine was expected.
Lloyd Austin gave his assessment about the current situation in Ukraine.
Early morning, following his defense minister, Zelensky arrived in Germany.
The US pledged aid to Ukraine valued at 500 million USD. Mainly for F-16's.
Zelensky during his speech stated that the step towards peace could be achieved by putting foreign forces on the ground in Ukraine.
Russia is now actively conscripting Ukrainian men into the Russian army in occupied territories.
Bloomberg said that it would cost the US far more if Ukraine would be defeated, than supplying it with aid.
Fico continues his threat game.
A coalition of countries announced that they will deliver 30.000 drones to Ukraine. Unknown in which timeframe.
An overview of pledged aid during the day (new and some already known like the air defense systems from Germany).
Zelensky met with NATO boss Rutte.
After Ramstein, Zelensky will fly to Rome where he will meet Meloni. Meanwhile he has already landed.
Umerov gave an overview of what was mainly talked about at Ramstein. A defense program over the course of 3 years.
Later today, more aid was pledged... Starting with Norway.
The Netherlands will soon sent new aid to Ukraine in terms of air defense. What exactly is not known yet.
Canada pledged more aid to Ukraine.
The EU strongly advises against flying towards Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Spain pledged new -mainly humanitarian- help to Ukraine.
Czechia said it has delivered around 1,5 million large-caliber shells to Ukraine via its Czech initiative.
After Ramstein, Zelensky said that Ukraine still does not have the desired 19 air defense systems but that they are heading a good way and new pledges were made.

After AFU attacks stopped, Russia counterattacked and is now advancing. Over recent days/week, Russia recaptured Tolstoy Lug, Zelyonyi Shlyakh, Novoivanovka, Kruglenkoe and entered the northern part of Pogrebki. The situation in Kursk is deteriorating for Ukraine. Image

Kursk and border operations - Day #66 - Battles for Berdin are ongoing
