BREAKING: A Kentucky legislator just introduced a bill to make school board races partisan.
This is the way.
Here's why 👇🧵
Liberals control school boards in conservative areas because they can hide behind the "nonpartisan" label.
Here's a Kentucky school board member in a red county claiming to be "conservative" after he ran for state representative as a Democrat and lost by 33 points in 2018.
House Bill 169.
Sponsored by @realTJRoberts.
@realTJRoberts "Non-partisan elections allow entrenched interests like teachers’ unions to have an outsized influence on school policies."
"Declaring party affiliation provides more information to voters, allowing them to make a better-informed decision."
@realTJRoberts "Likewise, in Kentucky, counties that overwhelmingly voted for the Republican candidate for United States Senate see school policy and curriculum set by registered Democrats."
