SitRep - 13/01/25 - Ukraine struck Bryansk with ATACMS/Storm Shadow

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In the Bryansk region, Ukraine struck the Bryansk Chemical Plant named after the 50th Anniversary of the USSR.

As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours.
Overnight, Ukrainian air defense took down lots of Shahed drones.
Althought Russian officials claim the Engels oil depot fire has been extinguished, it was still on fire as of this morning.
In Russia, lots of freight trains derailed, damaging the tracks and power lines.
Achilles UAV batallion at work, destroying Russian heavy equipment.
Damage to the Stalnoy Kon depot visibly confirmed by satellite images.
A military hospital in Tula caught fire.
At night, Ukraine attacked Bryansk. Heavy explosions were recorded by locals.
Not much later it became known they hit the Bryansk Chemical Plant named after the 50th Anniversary of the USSR, reportedly with a combination off ATACMS/Storm Shadow.
Also in Bryansk, another famous spot, the Kremniy El enterprise, was reportedly hit.
Lets continue with the general events. Ukraine might now have an advantage is the use of tanks.
Newsweek notes an increase of fiber optic FPV usage at the front line.
Russia keeps bombing its own people.
A large number of drones will be sent from Lithuania to Ukraine by the end of the week.
The first RCH 155, a state of the art howitzer, has been delivered to Ukraine.
As US increased sanctions on Russia's shadow fleet, India obeys by it.
Ukraine had to halt production at the Pokrovska mine due to the approach of Russian forces.
Jake Sullivan once again said that Ukraine really has to adress their manpower issue.
Fico is really worried, and now wants to meet with Zelensky to fix the gas problems.

In his farewell speech, Biden spoke about the failed Russian invasion.
EU countries are uniting in a proposed ban on both pipeline gas and LNG from Russia.

Luhansk direction

Russian forces have crossed the Zherebets river, and moved towards Hrekivka. Initially, Ukrainian forces were able to hold Russian back for a while but now Russian forces definitely have a bridgehead and are advancing towards the Oskil river. Image
Velyka Novosilka

Russia has now come dangerously close on almost all sides of Velyka Novosilka. Novyi Komar is contested, but Russia was geolocated in Neskuchne, paving the way for a big assault. Velyka Novosilka is not expected to hold long due to the absence of proper defense. Image
