SitRep - 16/01/25 - Ukraine & the UK sign a historic 100-year partnership.

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Keir Starmer visited Kyiv, announced new aid to Ukraine and Trumps team wants tougher sanctions against Russia.

As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours.
Also as usual, a Russian Shahed attack. Most of them were shot down.
A group of 27 Russians were captured.
Partisans in Moscow ignited two relay cabinets.
The oil depot that Ukraine struck yesterday in Liski is still burning.
On the border with Sumy, Ukrainian Border Guards repelled a Russian mechanized attack.
A Russian S-400 launcher destroyed in either Kursk or Belgorod (unclear).
A massive motorcyclist attack was repelled.
The Ukrainian General Staff confirmed the strikes to the oil depot in Liski.
A Strela-10 short-range AD system taken out.
Ukrainian bombs flew into a Russian base.
The attack on Liptsi resulted in the destruction of three tanks, and the fire is still ongoing.
Russian infantry taken out on the Dnipro river delta.
Lets continue with the general events. France and UK are discussing sending troops for a future peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.
Meanwhile Belarus has its own issues.
Early this morning, the UK PM arrived in Kyiv.
Also the Italian MoD visited Kyiv.
Border violations are decreasing in Ukraine.
Zelensky met with Starmer and first they went to honor the fallen Ukrainian defenders.
Zelensky put Fico in his place.
Ukraine and Kongsberg will try to integrate domestic AD systems into the NASAMS.
While Starmer was discussing with Zelensky, a Russian drone hovered over Kyiv.
In the US, everything is being prepared for a full MAGA turn.
Several announcements were made by Starmer and Zelensky during a pressconference
A historic 100-year partnership was signed.
Zelensky clarified who opposes Ukraine into NATO and said something about are main attributors in terms of aid to Ukraine.
According to Bloomberg, Trump wants to raise the stakes and sanction Russia even harder to force them to the negotation table.
Putin's aid said that there are no plans to talk to Trump and/or his team.
Ukraine showed some of its newest drones, capable of carrying multiple FPV's which can be dropped in Russia's rear.
Also Trump's new Treasury Secretary is in favor of harder sanctions against Russia.
Italy announced a new military aid package of which the contents are unknown.

Pokrovsk direction

Russian forces have advances southwest of Pokrovsk and have cut the highway to Mezhova. Russia's plan is clear: encircle Pokrovsk and avoid urban combat. Heavy fighting near Kotlyne is reported as Ukrainians try to revert the Russian gains. Image
