The film “Matilda”
Is the life of the conscious child
In the non conscious family
That loves junk TV and junk food
And hates knowledge and anybody smart

It’s also The conscious black person
In a community that hates knowledge
Hates reading hates art
Hates lyrical rap
Hates deep films etc etc

Next time you watch it..

Watch it through that lense

The conscious child is misunderstood
Within its own village and tribe

So the true black artist
The true black intellect
The true black author/writer
Etc etc is misunderstood in the black community because the community
Rejects that

The same way Matilda was rejected
By her parents and village

She was seen as the weird or crazy one amongst the village she was born into

And That’s how conscious black people are seen in their own community
